Title: Servicing electric hose reels.
Post by: NBwcs on October 28, 2025, 02:51:30 pm
The purefreedom hose reel comes with a 2yr guarantee which is void if you don't have it serviced by them after the 1st year. Does everyone bother having theirs done? I've not had it to bits so don't know whats involved, can't imagine a service actually involves alot. It would mean a 3hr round trip and a morning off work plus the cost of the service(£56 ph plus vat and any parts) . Do people with other brands have theirs professionally serviced? Is it worth it?

Edit. Just discovered warrenty is only 2yrs for controller, actual reel is 1yr,si to revise my question, is it worth having it professionally done or is it simple enough to do yourself or do you not bother at all?

They probably just look at it, give it a clean and take your money.  ::)roll

You would think for extortionate prices they charge they would chuck the service (whatever the hell there is to service on a reel ) in for free, i wouldnt give them another penny.

Everthings a massive rip off in this game, I can’t believe the price of xtreme poles now.

Yes, I know we can all afford it, before anyone pipes up about that, the point still remains, it’s all a rip off.

I could do with a new fob for my WFP link, over £100! For a fob!

I’m in the market for a new Electric reel, but gonna wait till Black Friday. My current one if knackered.

I once made a fob for about a tenner, never used it as had no need for it but it worked.

I would try and fix the reel, mine dropped to bits  so i replaced the spindle, stripped it down and re painted it.  Then the the motor went but just replaced it with a motor off ebay for about 30 quid

I wouldnt buy another at the prices they are now.

I’ve repaired it several times, can’t be bothered to keep repairing it, it’s knackered cos it’s been bashed about by other things in the van, the belt keeps coming off cos it’s all out of alignment. The casing of the whole reel tends to separate which pulls the belt off the gears.

Everything's getting more expensive though and let's face it window cleaning equipment is a niche market really.

None of us know the real cost of running a window cleaning equipment business(overheads like shipping costs,materials,tools,staff,taxes,rent/lease costs for business premises, etc). You ll probably find these guys are not making as much money as you think.

Remember all businesses need to make a profit or they go to the wall.....

Do yourself a favour and get a PF reelmaster. They are the best electric reels on the market. They are bulletproof.

Not everyone has nearly £1000 Inc Vat for a hose reel Daz

Hi Zesty. A replacement WFPL Fob are currently £68 + VAT and shipping. The Fobs are made in the UK and have a 2 year warranty.  The Fob also has to meet UKCA and CE radio transmission regulations and these days we have to account for recycling regulations

Drop me an email and lets see what we can do

Cheers
