Title: Text Local Issues
Post by: Spotfree on August 19, 2025, 04:36:08 pm
Anyone else having them?

Ive recently noticed a batch of messages not being sent, sometimes you get a customer that forgets to open the gate and says they didnt get a message rather than fessing up but I had 3 on the same day, checked my planner and all down as being sent.

I messaged textlocal on Friday and still no reply, tried ringing today and no one available to take a call.

This isnt the first time this has happened, last time I managed to speak with someone and he said he could see that some messages had not gone out, I had to ask for a refund as this guy didnt even mention it even after conceading I wasnt getting what I was paying for.

Are there any alternatives as I dont think these guys are much good?

I have emailed textlocal again and still no reply from them, I think its very poor of them.

I emailed cleaner planner this morning to see if there is anything they can do about the situation as theyre partnering with texlocal.

What other platforms are there out there? Not happy to pay for this kind of service

I had 4/4 fail last night with Texmarketer/aworka. Says sent according to aworka but the customers never received them. Luckily 3 of them were in.

Hasn’t happened to me for weeks but it’s really annoying. I’m not going back to manually texting templates to individual customers though. Got better things to do.
Will ditch them if need be.

And arrive to a locked gate & the customer’s out? Clean the font for a reduced price? No good for anyone imo.

Can't you just text your customers individually? I usually only have a handful to text each evening. Takes 5 mins. The text is already there so just have to forward it.

Sometimes the simplest way is the most effective

I used to but found it a right pita tbh.
Can’t schedule them & I don’t keep customer numbers in my phone. They’re not my friends.

It's really not a PITA.....my cleaner planner mobile  app has my downloaded worksheets there so I simply click the customers mobile number on the worksheet and forward the same text the evening before every clean.

It doesn't get more simple and hassle free as that!

Don’t take on jobs with locked gates unless we have a key or a code simple as that .

Agreed. But I got too many now. It will take years to weed them out. Got an employee in separate van too. 650 odd customers. I would guess a 150/200 of them are texters.

Been there done it Daz. Got an employee too. Even worse when I’m on my hols & he’s working. Manually texting doesn’t work for me.

I did txt a handful of jobs years ago but don’t anymore we have well over4,000 customers so I certainly don’t want to be doing that . Each to there own but we don’t take on work with access issues again have done in the past but I soon realised this was a recipe for problems so got rid of them .

How the hell do you find 4000 jobs without locked gates?

I like to run my hose to the furthest point & start there  so I know how much hose to pull before going back to grab my pole & lock the van (fixed reel). So if the gate isn’t ready & I have to knock, that pees my off too lol.

Been going a long time 😂 we do have  quite a few with gates but we have keys or mainly codes to get in that figure includes all the commercial jobs as well

I been going 33 years. Your average 2/3 bed semi doesn’t have a gate code round my way. I’ve got a few codes & keys. Stopped going down the key road as was ending up with too many keys that we  couldn’t remember which one was for which job. And they invariably ended up in the wrong van anyway! Personally my market is the newer smaller houses. I don’t tend to like the bigger properties  these days. Too many obstacles, awful hose runs & sometimes a ladder even! But mainly I find I don’t make as much money on them as on smaller houses.

We are lucky most of our 3 bed semi estates type of work don’t have locked gates low crime area . Some of the bigger detached 4-6 bed ones have keys or codes  we number each key and that number is attached to the address, keys are kept in a safe in the van , if anyone got  hold of them they wouldn’t know ware it was for so it’s quite safe .  We have around 60 keys  and 100 codes

Half of mine have a locked gate, by locked its mostly a bolt that cant be reached... even if they didnt i prefer to txt everyone anyway, saves me a trip if they are on hol or having building work done and id rather people know im coming so its no surprise.

As for texting, i used txt local for years via cleaner planner but there was always the odd one every week that didnt send. It was costing about 40 quid a month, so i just went back to manual. Of course with multiple vans you need it automated but texting 20 jobs on an evening takes 5 mins from the cleaner planner app, copy and past the txt. Same with payment reminder on the debt list.
