Title: Reel difficult to spin
Post by: Scottish Cleaning Service on July 26, 2025, 09:02:14 am
One of my hosereels is hard to spin. Going to strip it down tomorrow to see why it has happened. If anyone has had this issue then any help welcome. Will report back when I get it fixed, could be a damaged bearing.

What hose reel do have? If its a reelmaster, could it simply be you've got the brake function on or higher than it was?

It a nice SS Grippatank one. The only thing I have done is tighten up a loose nut but still worked well. Will know more tomorrow when I strip it down, it still works but isn't right.

Well that was an easy fix. I was carrying some 25l of softwash for last job and a drum fell between reel and tank onto an old bucket. The hose supplying the reel got jammed and must have been tight because when I removed the broken bucket on top of it everything became loose again. Nightmare job turned into a 5 minute fix.
