I am. A block of granny flats in the morning followed by a large church clean. Should be home for 1pm!😎👍

Just no.

A quick let up in the madness before my son starts his exams on the Friday.

I did end up finishing a job the other Sunday afternoon though.

I'm getting strung along by the court system. I'm a witness and no one seems to be bothered to turn up so I waste half a day sitting in the room by myself  to get told we will call you. They don't, and send out another summons to appear means I need to play catch up with the windies on Monday.

Did one today and I just reached the back ones with my 35' pole so not to bothered if she complains. I do the 2 below so it will be a nice earner if its a goer. 3 cleans without moving much and no one complaining that I'm soaking the flat below.

How do you get behind with only 100 customers per month ?  That’s only 25 per week should easily be able to do that in one day surely

I didnt even realise there was another one ffs.

Had a week off hol 2nd week in april, then came back to a bank holiday, then had to have a day off week after to take van for m.o.t then got naff all done this week due to heat so looks like i`ll be working the dreaded friday, Now you are telling me i have to have another day off next monday. Never gonna get owt done  :D

I actually booked a pressure washing job in for next monday that ive been putting off not realising so i`ll just go do that anyway, i wouldnt do regular windows on a bank hol.

There's another one at the end of the month too Adam!😂👍

Normally I wouldn't work a bank hol but I'm going on holiday early Thursday morning. A full 14 days off then I'm working one day then another 4 days off for the late may bank holiday before I'm back to a regular work routine again so 18 days off with only one work day in between.

10 days in Lanzarote all inclusive
2 band rehearsals
1 gig for singers birthday
Scissor sisters gig with the missus

It's going to be a great month!

Why not have your holidays booked so it incorporates a bank holiday? That way you don't have to work it plus you'll be off anyway? And it saves you the £'s.

Your right but I do plenty of add-ons. I took on a 30m fence job aswell because its round the corner from where I stay. Its my windy customer and thought I will do it in 3 days. Anyway, its taking me over an hour digging one hole because of the concrete path and edging kerb. Can't take anymore work on this month and trying to reduce my window cleans to make them more compact. Starting earlier, planning my day out better and hopefully get through this month with some days off then I'll reduce my workload. I think I will count all my customers to get a correct total.

Don't think I've ever worked one but it gets a pressure washing job out of the way so sod it and I can have the Friday off instead.

I like my Mon to Thurs routine.

Working Fridays and having enforced Mondays off not liking it.

Must be nice to go abroad out of school hols/peak season, I've just booked majorca in August probably could have gone 5 star for the same price this time of year.

There are certain jobs I wouldn't clean on a bank hol. One I'm squeezing in today is a £95 house that I would normally clean on a Monday but no way would I pencil it in for then.

20 granny flats early morning and a church(no one will be around)are perfect for bank holiday working.🙂👍

I have slowly started copying the boys down south regarding holidays. In the end they will take our money to pay for our care when we get older and can't manage. If you have spent your money then they can't get it. We have 3 meetings a year with the retired firefighters and when they begin to get their state pension they all give up working because they have to pay £100 tax on the state pension so if still working then they pay over 40% on everything they earn on tax so what's the point.

Last week I was down in Greenock and many have joined a charity called The Shed for £20 a year. Its a charity that has grown since its start nearly 10 years ago. It has  a big industrial unit off the council for a pound a year rent. It is full of woodworking machines, even CNC and laser machine. Ex council guy started it with the fire service guys and he knows how to fill in forms to get grants and funding. Only thing I see, its growing so fast with 500 members and now into allotments where they grow plenty of food. I'm going to join it and pop down at bank holidays and any time I need something done.

Not sure if you have them down south ? But if you have then pop in and have a look around you will be amazed at what you see. I'll probably be cleaning their windows when I'm there but well worth it to fit in.

Just no.

A quick let up in the madness before my son starts his exams on the Friday.

I did end up finishing a job the other Sunday afternoon though.

What exams is he taking EandM?

GCSEs - lots of them,
Then leaves in June for College.

For what seems like the last 20 years, I've had a five & a seven year old.
Then one day they're suddenly 15 & 18.
I'm unsure how we've all got old enough for this  :)

He wants to do Accountancy, which sounds pretty useful.
He's far cleverer than I.

Sounds like he has his head screwed on. Accountancy is a great profession to get into.

It's great fun taking them off to College. Quite a wrench. Is he staying on campus or sharing a place? Far away?

As for him being far cleverer than you - you run a successful business - that's pretty clever.

I'll be doing a skip run tomorrow and hopefully get some windows cleaned. Weather been great and I will be glad to get back to cleaning windows after a large fence job. Out of all the jobs I have done, window cleaning is the best bar the boredom factor. Probably the only new business that never goes bust if your a one man band.
Not many houses on the market up here at the moment and I have heard £40k over the asking price in a good area near me. Means many folk now want to look after their asset which means I've never been so busy.

That's very kind, thank you very much :)

He's commuting by train. It's only about 40 minutes but I'm going to have to drive him to the station for 7am.
On the plus side, my working day will be restored to pre-children levels and I should be able to get a lot more done.

Every silver cloud and all that...
