Do you just drop them in the top of your tank?(not at an angle then as mine didn't work tonight!)🙄

Usually they are fitted in the side of the tank

Drill a hole through the tank, unscrew the two parts and fit it. You can fit it normally closed or normally open whichever suits your needs

Thanks mate but I don't fancy drilling a hole in my tank. Also I would have to take it off every day after I've filled my tank. What a stupid thing to put on a plug and play RO system.
I've also noticed if I don't plug it in my pressure gauge doesn't work so it's wired up to it in some way.

Should be fitted to the top of tank lid, when water gets to top float will rise and turn system off, easy way to check if working leave it hanging beside system when filling and just turn it upside down, float will hit top and should turn off.

It’s only two wires. You’ll have to extend the wires & put some sort of quick connection/ multi plug in.

It needs to be horizontal so I don't know how I would fit it to my lid. Also the actual float doesn't move much (as in the diagram matty put on this thread). It only moves half a centimeter..
I'm surprised that there were no instructions for this float valve... ::)roll

It’s common sense Daz. It just opens & closes a circuit. Just drill a hole in the side or top of the tank, whichever works best. The little white bit only moves slightly. Try it when it’s running. Test it horizontally & vertically & then decide where to put it. It may not work horizontally. Don’t put it in the lid.
If you can put it in the side of the tank make sure it’s not too high or low. Too low & you won’t fill your tank right up to the top. Too high & it could overflow. Same with the top of the tank.

Sorry l ment the top of tank not the lid.
Cant see it working very well in the side of the tank as when the water rises it pushes up the small float and connects and turns off

You might be right. Hard to say without seeing it in the flesh. Not hard to tell if it’s in your hand though.

I've sussed it! It works perfectly!👌 I just drop it vertically into the tank! The problem was the rubber surround needed to be pushed back!🙂👍

Me and the missus are coming up with a solution to keep it straight in the top of the tank while filling up.🙂👌👍
Missus is going to fit a wooden base and castors to my RO on Sunday and metal shed getting delivered next Thursday. Missus is going to insulate it to protect it from frost and ill have the option of adding a little heater on below freezing nights. She's even got a little ramp to wheel it in and out of shed!😂👍

Large wire coat hanger shaped to fit over top of lid hole and tape the float on the hook will do it!👍

Glad you got it sorted Dazmond.
Personally I would have drilled a little hole for it in the top of the tank & added a couple of wire connectors so you can detach it.

I might end up doing that but I'm a newbie when it comes to RO systems and float valves so this will do the job for now!👍🙂
