It must be pretty grim in Scotland weather wise.....you always seem to get worse weather than the rest of the UK

It's something we all just need to get used to. All the climate scientists say we will see more frequent extreme weather events as the earth warms up.

I don't think our dog even wants to go for a walk in this wind!Gonna have to drag her round!

Nothing more than a bit of blustery weather so far here in the NW.

Hardly even windy here so far. Supposed to peak here around 17:00

Sacked it anyway and got some petrol for my generator just in case.

To be honest it's not bad here. Should have went out.

Ireland and west coast look bad.

Put ya feet up chaps.   Wet Windows in heavy wind = customer complaints, "windows are still dirty, if not worse"

True.....window cleaning in very strong wind and low sunshine is a recipe for complaints.....

No way would I like to be poling in this wind......my windows are absolutely filthy now and I only cleaned them a few weeks ago.....

So you don’t work in anything below 0°,  dont work when there’s ice on the roads and you don’t work when it’s completely dry but strong winds. I don’t know how you make a living tbh.  ;D

We don't half make a fuss about weather in this country. Yes it was very windy today nothing I haven't seen a thousand times before. Its dying down now will be gone by tomorrow.

The storm peaked about 20 minutes from where I live in central Scotland.

Sustained 95mph winds for about 3 hours.

Trees fallen everywhere, roofs of some houses off. It’s definitely been the worst storm I’ve been through.

I don't work when there's compacted snow and ice on the ground Danny no....

I didn't work today because I don't work fridays usually (unless there's a bank holiday on the monday that week).

I probably wouldn't have worked today anyway. I have done in the past and wfpoling in these conditions just makes a total mess of the windows from my experience.

Depends who you believe.

The earths climate has changed for thousands of years. Warm periods, ice ages, cool periods, etc etc.

You and your diesel van isn’t going to make a jot of difference.

Co2 makes up just 0.04% if the atmosphere. People seem to think us humans have the ability to change the weather. Nonsense.

We seem to be obsessed with the last century or so, ignoring the last millenniums of weather changes when fossil fuel wasn’t even a thought in man’s brain cell.

The climate changes, it always will. Let’s crack on and stops obsessing over wind turbines and solar panels.

For every article on ‘climate change’ there is a group of scientists proving it wrong.

One thing’s for sure, we here in the uk seem hell bent on destroying our economy over the whole green agenda.

Have a great weekend chaps  :D

For every article on ‘climate change’ there is a group of scientists proving it wrong.

I think you meant to say that for every article on climate change there's a group of non-scientist self-proclaimed "experts" thinking their self-taught nonsense gleaned from five minutes of "research" on YouTube makes them knowledgeable about the science and who bleat on with the same old tired, false arguments.

To be clear, I'm not talking about you, I'm talking about the people spouting this anti-science tripe. If they were scientists they'd be refuting papers in science journals, not going onto Instagram, Twotter and YouTube to spread their misunderstanding of the science.

No mate, there are countless fully qualified climate scientists that use data to come to a completely different conclusion.

Climate change will always happen, weather we burn fossil fuels or not.

Unfortunately it seems that the most vocal are the uninformed who gravitate to one end of the spectrum.

To me it is obvious that if you have a breathable atmosphere less than 4 miles high and have the emissions of 8 billion people and their factories and heated/cooled homes and their vehicles then their activities such as flying and deforestation will change the atmosphere's composition.

This is on top of whatever the earth itself does.

We need to factor this in for our children's and grandchildren's lives but it needs to be done without economically wrecking their lives in other ways.

Balance is needed. Greenwashing isn't helping.

Anyway, as Soupy says - there is another section of the forum if you want to start a thread on it.

I agree and I personally believe we will not prevent the climate from warming up. It's simply too late....

Anyway back on topic it's very sunny here today and ive already had a few messages off customers this morning asking when I'm next round to clean their windows...

I am 3 weeks behind my normal schedule and it'll take me until the end of Feb to get round all my work as I don't try and cram in extra jobs to catch up....I basically never catch up,that work and money is lost forever.....

It is what it is....Have a good weekend chaps!🙂👍

Another named storm coming in tomorrow afternoon here and it'll stick around for a few days next week by the looks of it but it should still be workable

I think naming storms has been a backward step. Customers were telling me a storm was due, so was I sure about cleaning?

The storm centre passed over central Scotland, the best part of 500 miles north of here, roughly as far away as Bordeaux.

Previously the weather forecast would have said Scotland's in for some stormy weather and moved on.  But because they now name the buggers and give it a big build up in the news (not just in the weather bulletin), everyone knew there was a huge storm coming in to hit us.

And all we ever do as a nation is talk about the weather.
