The larger your di vessel the longer it will last before the resin needs replacing.
How long will the resin last? That depends on how efficient your r/o is and how much water you use each day.

Spruce is right. The only thing I would add is the larger the DI vessel, the heavier it is to change.

Yep! For me, a 7 litre would be the biggest. Mine holds 6 litres. I couldn't manage an 11 litre or anything bigger.
There was a YouTube video of an American RV owner who designed an easy way to change resin on a large DI vessel, but the 6 litre one is fine for me, so I never took much notice of it.

(He doesn't know the difference between flow rate and pressure, unfortunately.)
At the moment, I use an old pillow case and a large plant pot with a hole in the bottom. I secure the pillow case to the inside of the plant with a length of wire. I pour the resin with water into the pillow case opening and leave the water to drain out, leaving the resin behind. I then put that into a plastic bag and bin it.

I use 2 x 25L vessels. The bigger the better and you ll be changing resin a lot less often.

How many bags of resin do you buy in say a year Dazmond? I bet if you used an RO you'd be changing your resin less frequently. I change an 11 litre resin vessel once a year or less. So a bag lasts me 2 years or so.

I don't use any resin until my TDS is above 10.

I change my resin approx every 5 months....but it'll be every 6 weeks when I move house.

Sounds like the drum kit is going to have to be chucked out in favour of an RO ;D

Nope....I don't want an RO....DI only is quick and convenient. It takes me around 25 mins to purify my water for my next days work. No way would it be that quick with an RO(no waste water either).
I'll just have to take the hit. I'm putting my prices up in April so that will offset it a bit......

Don’t see why time is an issue you connect it up and just leave it there is nothing to do . Yes there will be a bit of waist water but that will be cheaper than the extra resin

Sounds like the you purify straight into your tank? What do you do for the 25 minutes while the tank is filling? Do you have the tap wide open or trickle it through the DI? Do you ever flood your van? Trickle saves the resin.
