Ive just had a pump delivered which was suggested would fit in my IBC tank but its not even close.
I know a lot of you guys use IBC's as your holding tank but how do you get the water out of it????????
The opening top opening on mine is 140mm (5.5 inches) and I would prefer a mains operated pump, also my not interested in cutting holes in the top.
Thanks in advance guys

Unfortunately there are very few pumps that fit this opening. You can buy a 240V surface mounted pump

So do IBC's come with different sized openings and have I got one of the smaller ones ::)

yeah IBC's come with either a 5.5inch opening or an 8inch opening - all our IBC's are 8inch to allow for a submersible pump.

Thanks JM123,
Just my bloody luck that id have the 5.5" one. ??? ???

Alister,
I had the same problem but instead of cutting a bigger hole I cut a flap in the top with a stanley knife, placed the pump through it and then pulled the pipe and lead out of the original hole. haven't sealed the flap yet but I guess any plastic glue will do. but it looks good enough so I left it. Its not air tight but it will save you money and time.
Hope this helps.
