I'm thinking of downsizing my van and wondered what you chaps use that is good on fuel
My van only does 26mpg. its massive and awkward to park loads of space I don't need...
Thinking of getting a 1.3 doblo/combo to be cheaper on fuel and ins are they any good ?
Anything else to consider ?

I've been using a SWB 1.3 Doblo for the past 5 years and get around 39 to 40mpg - this is in South West Wales on twisty, hilly routes with a 350L tank, ladder plus other kit.
Had to replace alternator, glow plugs & top mounts in the last year but at 7 years old/70,000 miles I guess that's not too bad. In hindsight I wish I'd gone for the 1.6 LWB for a little extra power & space but all in all quite happy with the van & I'll probably keep it until it goes no more.

I average 34.2 in my 2.2 transit custom. That’s great for a fantastic van, no way I’d want a smaller van.
Carry 750l of pure. So I’m well impressed by my MPG, especially as my round is very stop start.

That's interesting. I have the same van but get around 25-27 mpg and i Have a 650 l tank which is rarely full.

Low 30's mpg.

Custom Auto 170bhp, 28.5 MPG. To be honest I didn’t think MPG would be a concern for us window cleaners, given that we’re all on £80+ per hour😜

I have a Renault traffic sport swb does 30 mpg in London poss the toughest town driving in the country
With a 350 tank and kit and me and all the bits we carry
my brought from new Vauxhall combo was the worst van I have ever had no power used to hate going up a hill finally the gearbox went. The key didn’t work in the ignition and it had lots of faults the stop start was driving me insane and did 28 mpg even though the brochure claimed 60 mpg !!

i run a 2013 nissan nv400 mwb, big van often loaded up with several hundred kg's. work around rural norfolk averaging 33mpg which isn't bad . Much more at home on open roads than rural lanes and towns.

LWB or SWB?

2018 Transit Connect LWB auto, averaging 42mpg with a 500 litre tank. Never run with a full tank, usually 250 - 300 litres a day.

I've got one of them. Not think it's... a bit.... wee?
I prefer the doblo Maxi. Pretty much the same van but you can fit 2 reels a 500l tank and a supermax 50ft without issue.
