Post by: vistech on March 10, 2024, 09:56:52 pm
Hi,what is the best brush for cleaning outside of gutter, fascia and all the awkward bits. Also what chemicals if any is best, just thinking about damaging plants. Cheers, Martin

Most non caustic TFR - Ubik - any others all do the same jobbie

if your really brave stick a little sodium hypochlorite in the mix

standard super light or equiv is  best. not sill brushes or ovals

I use an old extreme brush, very light and can get up between the brackets, much easier on the shoulders and neck too when cleaning at height...

I just use hot water most of the time (virosol in a backpack if it's a really dirty job).

Hypo, hardly need to scrub.
How do you avoid it bleaching your clothing though?

I used hypo on a commercial gutter clean job about a month ago. Too much faffing about with it. If you’re not careful you’ll get drift and end up spraying half the county, killing shrubs, lawns and  babies left out sunning it on neighbours patios.

Wear old work clothes and just be careful, I use a backpack sprayer with a single 50 degree fan jet to gently apply to the gutters and facias. Never have any issues. Minimal overspray.

Obviously you don’t want to be using a full on softwash machine for gutters. I’ve get the machine out only for actual sofreash jobs.

I never use anything else for gutters now, I always use hypo, it’s so fast and easy.
