Title: Waterworks HD reel.
Post by: tlwcs on December 28, 2023, 10:08:35 am
The older version.
It’s leaking from the where the knuckle is circlipped to the centre shaft. They list replacement o rings but I struggled to fit those last time and just bought the complete brass knuckle.
These are no longer listed on their or WCW websites. I suspect it’s to make us buy a new reel.
Would anyone know of another supplier for this part.
I have left a message on waterworks answerphone.
Thanks and happy new year guys.
Tony

Thank you both. I couldn’t find them. The power of CIU.

Ok. The part came and I gave myself plenty of room to work. The right sized spanner on and Lucy lefty, righty tighty constantly checking I’m going to undo not tighten.
Spanner on, push away and the bloody thing just snaps off. Apparently I tightened the last one too much.
So drilled out, re threaded and the new fitting sort of screwed/forced in by a local garage. He would not take payment, a drink unless it works leak free.
I will refit later but I have my doubts.

You did well to re thread not a simple thing to do even in a machine shop

The oh did well to re thread not a simple thing to do even in a machine shop

It’s got worse this morning, the Barb on the inside for the hose has come halfway out and snapped off.
Why do we fit fitting brass into steel?
I think it’s time to spend some money on a new one.

All the parts are available. When mine gives up the ghost I will buy a new proloc reel and convert it with a new motor and switch, I’m not sure I could justify the cost of the latest offerings.

So they don’t rust together - but I feel your pain

Ive just replaced my brass inlet swivel over christmas the old one was leaking badly. Had to take the entire reel to bits to get it out though.
