Title: Ladders. Is 12'6" long enough?
Post by: Leigh on July 25, 2006, 12:08:07 pm
Hi just a question about ladders. Going to be buying my first set soon and was just wondering if a 12'6" would be high enough? Any help would be good, cheers.

I've tried several over the years and my personal favourite was 3.5 mtr (11ft) double.  There may be some places where you require a little more if you need to extend the ladder over a frame (such as above a bay window) but I've found this to be very few places.
Like most answers, it can depend on what work you have.

My only comment on this is DON'T buy cheap domestic ladders from local garden centres.

They don't last long and are not designed for hard daily use.

It is worth the extra few pounds for a safer, more reliable ladder that will last the distance.

If you search the postings on here you will find all the suppliers you need.

Best wishes,

Trev

I have several ladders of differant sizes but the most practical is my 3.5 mtr pointer.

I brought 3.5 mtrs.
Then i tried 3 mtrs and found these easier to manage and also have not had any problems yet, but still keep 3.5 and 4 mtrs in case.
I am new at this so just letting you know
