Title: Getting back to work after a holiday
Post by: jay moley on August 08, 2023, 12:18:19 pm
Just back from a 2 week holiday in Tenerife which was lovely.

Picked up a cold which I probably got on the flight.

Feeling a bit better today so will go out tomorrow. Not looking forward to it.

Any tips for getting back in the game after holiday?

Thanks chaps.

I read the other day that shorter holidays make you happier.

So maybe two 7 day holidays next year instead of one 14 dayer.

Anyone do it that way instead? Surely more expensive tho.

Yeah, just think about all the money you spent on holiday

After spending all pf May in Canada last year (unintended humblebrag) I found the only thing that got me through the months after returning was the prospect of another holiday - albeit seven months later at New Year. I'd written down my financial targets to get me to there e.g. x amount for visiting attractions, x amount for meals and drinks at nice places, x amount for the odd treat whilst away.
It was bl00dy hard to get through June and July but part of it was just readjusting to work after a month of relaxing and doing 'stuff'.
Seeing the readies in the bank or my pocket certainly eased the pain though  ;D

It’s quite simple , get out of bed.  Get in van , go to first customer and start work 😂😂😂

Yep just booked a 5 star hotel for a week in Lanzarote for next month (hotel fariones).my missus is self employed too so we tend to go on shorter holidays(sometimes it's 10 days).

My tips would be to keep fit on your holiday too.i go swimming most days early in the morning,3 weight training sessions per week, plenty of walking and sex then work is a breeze when I get back. ;D

You might have covid as quite a few of my customers have got it at the moment after coming home after a holiday

What does your missus do whilst you’re out walking having sex? Could be a typo I suppose.

would prefer to have multiple shorter breaks myself

in fact 4 or 5 days is enough for me, get bored after that... I once went abroad for 10 days i couldnt wait to get back after about 5!

but then my holidays often arent relaxing with kids, usually more stress than being at work... i often come back feeling like i need a holiday to get over the holiday

Holidays without kids? So when does your missus get to go away on one of them?

I always book another holiday within a week of getting back home.

Less than 3 weeks until my next holiday. I booked a 5 star hotel this time.ive always wanted to stay in this hotel when I've gone past it.fully refurbished in 2020.🙂

I’ve just booked that for next year. £840. Per cabin on board spend!

Stay home as long as you like, it's your business if you don't go work you'll lose customers, your choice. Bills don't stop landing through your letterbox because you go away on holiday.
