Mine stopped working yesterday..Checked the fuse and that's fine.I can hear a clicking noise from the motor when I press the button but it's not reeling in.
Anyone else had a similar problem?
I've rang waterworks but no answer.

sounds like the motor is getting power but is it getting enough power ? I would check it has 12v at the motor and if it does check the earth is sound. If all good then it must be the motor that is defective.

Found a great video on YouTube which helped me trace the problem.Well done waterworks.

So what was it?
-
Snapped belt?
-
relay im guessing?
-
out of interest, when something like this happens, do these electric reels have a manual option so you can carry on?
-
yes - on the main spindle is a hole for you to put a bar through

Coincidentally i changed the relay on one of mine today. I’d finally got round to changing to the newer style switch as advised by waterworks after mine had stuck on a few times which was a bit scary. Turns out it was probably the relay though. Changed it tonight & will test it over the coming days/weeks. A rectus 21 flying around on a reel really was a bit scary as i’d let go of the hose as it was almost in. So I couldn’t grab it to blow the fuse. Just kept jabbing the button & luckily it turned off.
Still interested to hear what op’s problem was…

Would have been really interesting with the pole still attached 😳

Does my head in when people ask for advice on a forum but haven't got the decency to reply when they're all sorted. I'm alright Jack!
