This was a customer's place yesterday in Charmouth.
The first electric roof I've seen that wasn't attached to a car.
They made it themselves as glazing is their thing.
Clever stuff!

Some sun canopies are electric and open on their own when it gets hot. As I found out years ago when I was trading a bedroom window above one :-\ a sharp descent back down before I got knocked off.

Yes, I've seen a few of those.
This is about 10 feet by 6 feet though and must weigh a ton.
I should have put something in the picture to give an idea of scale.
At least it gives easy access to the roof.

Access is easy once you open the roof. Just put a ladder up from the mezzanine floor/room below.
You can stand in the gulley at the back or reach across from the right hand side.
The whole Roof is probably 20 x 20 feet and then there are additional 6x6 feet skylights.
