Title: Hypo Prices
Post by: Clever Forum Name on May 21, 2023, 04:19:27 pm
Hi,

I wasn’t responsible for buying Hypo as I let my father do that for his business and I used to buy the old drum.

He’s saying the prices have almost doubled since COVID.

Just wondering what sort of prices people are paying for a 25L Drum.

Thanks.

I think you will find some sellers are just taking the pee.... they are all out of late to make a killing

I would say its gone up around 40%

I used to pay about £12.50 per 20 litres its now about £17.00

We used to pay £13 for 25 ltr it’s now £22 but did go up to £38 at one point the supplier we use is only allowed to order 20 drums at a time from who ever supplies him it’s a small farm shop , we now pre  book an order and buy all 20 at a time in advance , apparently there is a world shortage of hypo as it’s made in the Ukrainian so I was told don’t know if that’s true  or not ?.

Local cleaning supplies shop

They now take returns on the black barrels so I suspect they are decanting from a 1000 ltr IBC

We have a big chemical place in GY who have it by the warehouse load - but I don't want a 1000 Ltrs sitting around the unit like that
20 barrels is enough of a headache

Cheapest round my way is mole farm supplies, used to get it from a swimming pool shop for just £14 a barrel, now it’s £40 a barrel, ridiculous.

Can be costly and get through a barrel quickly when using it higher strengthens on hard surfaces, still a good profit to be made on a 25 litre 14/15 percent barrel though. I'm doing a conservatory roof this morning for £155.00 an won't use much more than a few gluggs with detergent in a backpack, this kind of work you get a good return on 25 litres.

Price has shot up to nearly £30.00 used to pay under £20.00 for same brand/quantity & strength

£33 for 25L delivered. About a £300 order. They said it was being delivered today.
