Twice in one month ::)roll
A lot of my quoting is done from google maps by text...... I just add to allow between £x and £x if they have a conservatory.
MY flyers have prices on also saying the same ... I deliver them myself and add the price while I am at their property.
The reaason I do it this way is because when I get a call , they are calling to go ahead, Ity's a converted customer.
twice in the space of a month ... I have had a text from a new clean asking why I haven't cleaned their conservatory roof.
This is a first for me in the 30 years I have been doing this job.
It.s hard to believe that people can be so silly.
from now on I am having to add ( ROOF NOT INCLUDED ) when I quote ..,.,.

It's one of the first things i tell them if they have a conservatory roof that it's not included with windows.

I say ' includes the glass in the conservatory sides.'

yes - people will always find a way to interpret things in their favour
I always tell tell them conservatories are the sides (windows) not the roof thats a separate cost
same as gutters - its either a clear - insides only a wash - outsides only or you can have in and out - otherwise people think they are getting both but only paying for one

Yep had this a few times....then I price up a one off roof clean for them and they think I'm ripping them off
Trying to explain they take longer and are much harder work sometimes falls on deaf ears.you don't want these types of customers

It's the window cleaners Rites of Spring - this time of year the messers and pita's that "can't seem to find a window cleaner" emerge from the undergrowth.
In the space of a week I've had a call last thursday at 8:30pm asking for a price - I text back friday morning explaining I was away until Monday, but I'd phone them then. Their reply was "thanks, but I've got someone else calling today, I'll be in touch."
Oh no you won't - delete and block.
Also an out of the blue "can you come and clean mine tomorrow?" No, but I'm on that road next week, I could give you a price then and go from there...
"No, we have people coming this weekend and want them cleaning tomorrow."
Delete and block.
And finally one like yours -
custy :"but I thought you'd clean the conservatory roof as well".
"
Me "Well no, the price was for regular window cleaning, not conservatory roof cleaning. I'd charge X for the roof"
Custy: "How much?! That's more than cleaning all the windows costs! Don't bother then."
Me: "Sure thing, see you in five weeks."
Custy : "No, I mean don't bother cleaning them again. I'll get someone else."
Me (with relieved broad grin at customers self-culling) : "SURE thing!"
Every year the same - the dross come out trying to snag unsuspecting window cleaners. Good luck to the newbies having to sort through these on their learning curve!

The clue is in Window Cleaning & not, Roof Cleaning.
-
Easy to mistake the word "window" with roof ;D

I also do the same .... I give a price for washing external, and a sepperate price for clearing
then give a discount for both at my discression.
