Just applied, mainly because I spend a fortune on materials renovating the house.
10% off all purchases - I’ll be interested to see if they accept my application as a window cleaner!
Gardening was listed on the generic ‘choose your trade’.
Will report back if it’s successful.

I managed to get one. I think you’ll need a website if i remember rightly.
-
I have a trade account with them no problem getting it
-
why wouldn't you ??

I provided website and also needed a letter headed page of some sort as proof. Did it all through the website, gotta wait a day or so for it to be reviewed.
Glad to hear others have had success!

I put down general builder on my application, didn't notice gardening which would of been the closest...oh well i will wait and see if i get accepted ;D
-
I got one a few months ago. Same reason I seem to spend all money on d.i.y .
Just put cleaning company on the application

Just put cleaning company on the application
There was no option for cleaning company on the list when i did mine.
-
I put property developer 😂
There was nothing close to window cleaning, but they’ll know that anyway when they see I’m a window cleaner!

I also have a trade account with a local builders merchants and they know exactly what we do as we do their windows and cladding clean ,but still don’t have a problem with us having an trade account.
-
I have been approved as a general builder ;D

Does seem silly they don’t list ‘cleaner’ at the very least.
Anyway, good that they see window cleaning as a trade. It could be a bit of a grey area, but they want the custom, so makes sense for them as a business.

My missus is an interior designer so she has all the trade cards for wickes,b and q,etc...
She also does all the painting and wallpapering which is great 👍 😄
-
I ordered a new step ladder from wickes last night the 10% came in handy, it will for kiln dried sand too.

Why would they refuse you? They are a trading business that wants your custom, even with a 10% discount they’ll be making a decent profit. It’s not in their interest to turn you away. Same goes with Costco, cash n carry stores etc etc.

Yes, that’s what I said in an earlier post, they obviously want the business.
It’s just interesting to see what they consider a trade. I’d like to know where the line is because windows cleaning has never been listed as a trade…

If the colour of your money is the right colour then you're a trade.
