Clean It Up

In a village in South Gloucestershire in a country lane are a pair of semi detached cottages.
Opposite, an old run down cottage has been demolished and when I went to clean, the windows of my customers opposite were covered in grey mortar dust.
Neighbour one was 'so pleased to see' me so I could remove the dirt as a new house was being built.
Neighbour two said 'it's not worth doing' as they are demolishing and building across the lane.
Of course, being me neighbour two had it explained that I was there to remove 8 weeks dirt and that most of the muck will have come from the rubble being cleared rather than the new build going up.
Just goes to show though - different attitudes to the same issue.

So did you end up cleaning no2 ?
-
I guess one of your customers had 'Great Expectations'.

Yes.

It was the best of posts, it was the worst of posts ...

Can see it from both sides tbh. I have no issue skipping a clean when building work is happening next door/over the road.

I do.

Does that also mean that no2 wouldn't vacuum her/his carpets while the build is going on, because they are just going to get dirty again?

Some building work goes on for the best part of 12 months.i have a few customers where its taking a ridiculous amount of time to build a simple side extension on their houses so obviously I skip theirs but I don't accept skipping the neighbours houses too.

One of mine had builders in early September start his extension.....he told me that they told him about 4/5 weeks so I said I would check it out next time round and leave again if necessary as I clean 6 other houses round his........was round there last week and he came over to me for a chat and he was fuming as it still isn't finished.....he says they come for half a day then you don't see them for a week......he doesn't want to sack them off in case he can't get anybody else to finish it for a few months.................bloke 2 doors down from me has finally got his finished after 18 months of coming and going, he said it was sometimes a month between them coming back.
