Title: new leads needed
Post by: Steve H on January 25, 2023, 08:03:47 pm
Hi all,
I know this has been asked before (like most things) but just wanted to ask again!
Im looking at buying in some leads, to potentially expand. I have someone who wants to work more hours for me, but i dont always have enough work. Ive been looking at Bark! or the company that advertises on hear (or used to, not looked recently). Anyone used either of those and found a bit of success with it? i did a leaflet drop, picked up a few, but proper time consuming for what you get back.
Any suggestions appreciated
Thanks in advance guys.

Best thing you can do is head over to udemy and get a course on fb ads or digital marketting and learn yourself.

You'll save money in the long run.

You can learn fb ads and Google ad words from anywhere online but udemy condenses it into courses and they are cheap.

That's how I learnt,I used to sell leads.

By far and the best way (for me) is door knocking - best hit rate and conversion - its always been good quality work as well

While Stoots sings the praises of FB - I think a large proportion on here have found work from FB to be pretty low rent

If your serious about expanding then you need to try several different methods and then repeat, repeat repeat

A friend of mine tried 'Bark' he only does gutter cleaning and clearing.
He says, for him, it's not very good:
The customers on there are looking for the cheapest price, so will get loads of quotes.
You have to try to contact the customer before anyone else does, and that could be a minute from getting the lead.
It's quite expensive for what you get.
He told me that for window cleaning it would be a definite no, that is however, just his experience.

Personally I like leaflets, a simple design with a picture of you and your van and list out everything you offer in an easy to read list. Nice big telephone number at the bottom and keep it friendly.
Don't deliver them yourself, have a look around and see if you can find someone to deliver for you. I got lucky and found a guy who would deliver 1,000 for £30 in areas of my choice. He also sent me a tracker photo so I could see where he'd been. He did deliver mine with about 3 or 4 other leaflets but I still had a hit rate of 4 customers per 1000. Some areas you'd get nothing, other areas you'd get more but the average was about what I mentioned.

As has already been said, you need to try different ways of advertising, find out what works for you, and your area, and then stick with it. It's trial and error.

Please, can you send me the details of your leaflet distributor? I tried once but the distributor took my money without doing the job.
