I have rarely cleaned commercially but after reading some of the posts I am wondering if domestic is potentially the biggest earner. For domestic we are more likely to sell protector although commercial would often be bigger. Any comments?

commercial can be a pain in the bum.
Give me domestic anytime.

Only once in the blue moon am I asked by Dom’s for protector (even less for allege stuff) don’t do hard sales as don’t need the agro which can come from it, commercial they never ask
It’s all down to mind set Dom’s cash flow commercial profit one compliments each other, but always! Stick to your price, flexibility helps.

In my opinion Stain guard on carpets is one off the biggest rip offs, off this century, i always ask the customer when booking if the item is stain guarded and 9 out 10 that say yes and follow up with how rubbish it is. My pitch is save the additional money and have the carpet cleaned again in 6 months, they love the honesty and i end up with the majority of jobs, we then diarise to give them a call, and they often rebook plus additional work.

We know protector works to a fashion and I’m not knocking it, there some good products out there, customers are funny people they hear what you say (it’s not bullet proof) but they never listen!
