I know Pure Freedom use a separate 25 litre Jerry can tank for fuel using the hot water unit but is there any users of their system that they connected to the vans fuel tank directly.

I got one of their systems back in 2011 and it was tapped direct into the vans diesel tank at that time.

Yes you just drop the fuel tank and fit a stand pipe into the top of the tank all my vans are done this way

If you use a separate tank in the van and it’s metal it won’t smell as much but over time it will start to stink.

The trouble with using a Jerry can as a fuel tank is that you can't see how much fuel is left at a glance. You could use a dip stick but that's a bit long winded.
The other thing is that a separate tank was needed if you decided to run your heater on red diesel. But since the regulations changed in April this year, we can't use red diesel to heat water for commercial use: only personal heating.

Don't Pure Freedom have the option to plumb direct into van fuel tank anylonger?

I have seen that they install them like that and am very surprised they do tbh.
