Over the last month or so I've lost 10 customers, how ever only 2 have been regular payers other have been a pain to get them to pay.seems to have been a patern with bad payers..so rely they have done me a favour.
-
Its often the case the bad payers or pita jobs cancel
I had one cancel yesterday, terraced house that needed 100m of hose out to get round the back, didnt like that job anyway told her as much when she cancelled ;D
-
Why have you got so many bad payers on your round? Do yourself a favour and get rid of them all.
-
I 've lost about the same, a couple of them not good customers, two yesterday though total £50, they have bought a home system to do themselves, I had no idea there was so many diy systems out there now.
-
they have bought a home system
That'll be a b and q extendable pole and brush to connect to the outside tap for a Spot free finish i expect.
-
Get a backpack for jobs that require 100m of hose just for one houses backs.
-
It's alright saying get rid of them all when there is an abundance of shiners about these days and you only have a couple of hundred customers... I'll be out next year pushing gutter cleaning
-
Your time and efforts would be better spent gaining new customers than cleaning/chasing bad customers, just the way it is.
-
That’s the balance - being brave/confident enough to bin bad custy’s- same as pricing and price increases - the fear of losing some work can hinder you going for the better price

Agreed more canvassing in new year don't want to put up prices of existing customers. ill just price a bit higher on new jobs and go slightly further afield

The irony is ive just bought/made a trolley system, didnt even get the chance to use it on that hideous job

We have put up all our prices this year some by a substantial amount lost 2 , yesterday had 6 houses in a small close that had prices increased by £3 each in July have all put up there prices themselves buy a further £5 each as they said they felt with the increase in costs they should pay more , wish all customers were like this they were already well priced . Personally if you wait for the right time to increase prices that will never happen as there will always be a reason not to do it , just put them up , if you get a few cancellations then canvass to replace them .

All six customers in one close decided to put their own price up by £5 each? :o

Lost my first jobs due to the cost of living crisis today..2 commercial jobs emailed me to cancel...
I've been cleaning these jobs for over 25 years so I've had a good run....
No jobs last forever that's why you should always take on new jobs occasionally....

They said they can't afford to have the windows cleaned due to the cost of living crisis.they may have gone for someone cheaper(but my price was fair,I certainly wouldn't clean them for any cheaper)....I've left the door open to take them back on in the future but I can't complain!25 years is a good amount of time to keep a window cleaning job! ;D

Good attitude to have Daz, it’s easy to get annoyed when losing work but like you say, not all jobs last forever.
