How much are your yearly expenses now?
With the cost of everything so high, I’d expect we’re all now hovering around 6-7k easily.
It’s quite amazing to think how much is now spent on my business these days, given that window cleaning has historically been a very low expenses job.
-
7k a month is about right...
certainly up in the last few months mainly due to fuel costs

Yep £6 -7k per year is average for me as a one man band and I'm only part time.....
Still beats driving around in an old car climbing ladders every day and collecting (and earning very little tbh).even though expenses are higher I earn far more than I did as a trad window cleaner and used to work longer hours too!
-
I earn over triple what I did as a trad window cleaner per year, less hours and safer to boot....
Expenses trad were around £2k per year so if I'm earning £30k+ more a year an extra £5k in expenses is not that bad at all....🙂
-
Mine were £12,200 with the van payment
About 25% of turnover
-
Main expense is running the van. As a sole trader expenses are not massively higher than they would be trad (I use a cold water system).

You must only be around the 2k mark then, I’m cold water but the cost of WFP far succeeds trad…
I’m around the same as Daz.

Lol our diesel bill is around £400 per week I’ll let the mathematician s work that one out then there is all the other expenses wages ,vat , holiday pay pensions , new poles etc water , insurances it’s a huge sum when you look at the total amount

Unless you are going to work on a bicycle, I’d say expenses of £2k per year is impossible.
I’m around £8k per year and that’s with leasing a new van.

2k is ridiculous!
Fuel, insurances, van sevicing, poles, resin, water rates, clothing, electric etc.
Some companies would pay more than that on leaflets alone.

For most window cleaners I'd say they'd spend nearly £2k a year just on fuel before any other expenses these days!
-
;D6k a week before any profit!

He hasn’t said an amount, I’m guessing, but 2k when trad was about right for me. Though that was nearly 10 years ago for me.
Now it’s 6-7k easy with WFP and everything that goes with it.

On the boot front you never wear boots I wear engelbert strauss boots they have a tie cap and a sole liner I tried on a nail that went to one end and came out the other the liner deflected the nail ruined the boot but saved a trip to a and e boots are essential part of Ppe for the job drop a ladder on your toes the trainer isn’t going to do much and offers no protection other than looking good
