Well who uses a tap still ?
-
::)roll
No - they have their place - but I couldn't get on with having it in a holster or loop - either leaking or tripping up
As I have progressed I have found it best to simplify things - a set flow rate - set equipment - ie one pole for everything other than really high works - same pumps in each van - same controllers/set up - same trad gear
its easy to over complicate things when in reality all your looking for is a quality result in as good as time possible

They are total $hite imo...why anyone would use one when you can buy a univalve is beyond me.
-
I use one on my pole hose which I hold in my hand (the hose close to the tap).
-
;D
-
Just got myself a Harris pole with a lever valve on the bottom to save water 🤣🤣🤣.
-
Always have.
Tap fixed on a rotatable / movable collar on the bottom section so it's always in your hand however far extended or collapsed the pole is.
As far as I know the Univalve is either on or off, no in between.
And as for the amount of hassle people seem to have with them, rusty springs etc.
With a tap you can vary the flow as well as turn it off completely.
The loop has never bothered me, you get used to managing it.

I'm amazed at how some window cleaners work....
Still humping reels out of the van to plug into outside ports...
Using 8mm hose
Manual reels
Sub optimal poles and brushes
Cold water
....and taps on their poles/belts...
I really don't care anymore if it works for them that's fine....
It's just not the easiest way to work IMO...
The univalve has been a game changer for me
-
That wasn’t the question!!!
To answer yours - I ‘hump’ reel out of van, manual reel in, cold water, 8mm hose. 39 years in the game 17 using the reach and wash. Works absolute fine. Paid my house off and have a nice life. But of course in your opinion I’m doing it all wrong CHEERS 🍻
-
If you’ve been wise enough to pay you’re mortgage off early why would someone still be stupid enough to be lifting reels in and out and using taps to turn their water off, can’t work it out can you 😂.

Wrong as usual. ;D

There he is Dazmuuunds twin. Another one with plenty to say but never anything constructive! And to call me stupid as well. About par for the course my friend.
This will shock you even more and no doubt lead to more abuse but here goes - all my work is written in books with pen and ink. Always has been and always will be. If it ain’t broke and all that.
This forum gets more and more like mumsnet every day. That’s why I very rarely post.
Instead of trying to help people there seems this need with a few people on here to abuse others and criticise their working practices that work for them.
Little men syndrome maybe?

Yes some people make it hard for themselves........father and son do some houses near me and I often have 10 minute natter with them.......the father is set in his ways and son is always trying to change him.
He won't use univalves but son as seen mine in action and wants one.
Same with the swivel head and rinse bar on brushes.
Same with pricing, he hasn't put prices up for 11 years.
He won't charge more for first or one off clean.
They have to leave van running whilst working otherwise the battery goes.....they only do very local and he won't make it so he can take it off at night and bench charge.
The son is trying to change him.
And yet they have a HOT WATER SYSTEM.

If you get stuck in a mindset then you will suffer. Always be open minded and flexible. Don't always follow the crowd.
Be prepared to accept that the crowd sometimes has it right.

I can see by the amount of posts and contributions that you’re rarely on here yeah.

Just because someone is rarely on here doesn't mean what he says, when he is, is not valid.
"An empty can makes a lot of noise"
As is quite evident judging by some of the drivel posted on here by the most prolific posters ;D

Good one 👍👍. Why brag to a load of people you've never met nor will? I'll tell you what Dazmond, from what you tell us about yourself I can tell you I'm a lot better off than you, but I don't feel the need to tell everyone.
I use a tap. I've found a supplier on eBay who sells metal ones with a metal on/off for £1.80 each plus postage. I've just had 5 delivered for £11.25. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143310387128 I also kink the hose to stop the flow. It works for me 👍
-
There’s no way you’re better off than me when you use a tap 🚰 🤣🤣🤣,my Dads bigger than you’re Dad lol.
-
When univalve comes out in 10mm form instead of 8mm I may try one, but until then I'll stick with a tap
-
What?

Whilst I agree with Daz, AuRavelling's point cracked me up lol ;D

I use one on my box of wine.
Univalve on the pole

It's always the guys using taps and other inferior wfp equipment that seem to have large chips on their shoulders or just seem bitter about life in general.... ;D

I use a tap and I'm not bitter. I got three of the old univalves in my shed and three new ones still in a wrapper, just don't like them and they are too small for 10mm pole hose without adding reducing pneumatic connections. Life is good, two years until I get my army pension mortgage free, debt free and also part time, best way to be. Saving up to get 5Kw solar set up with 6Kw battery bank for back up as plan on making life as debt free going into semi retirement so I can choose to work less as time goes by.

Will try to keep this short and sweet.
No chip I’m afraid. Reasonably happy with life in general to be fair.
As for inferior equipment well it all does the same thing ultimately. We go out and we make dirty windows clean and we get paid very handsomely for it. Some people work one way another will work another way. Whatever they feel works for them is fine Darren. It’s about personal choice. Maybe there are changes that I could make that would make life easier . But at the moment I’m fine thank you. Worked fine for very many years. I know this is something that you are not comfortable with. You have a need to impose your will. You want to be big and strong and in control. Always right. You say you don’t care so why did you post? I think it was you that started the whole thing.
Why you behave this way I don’t know as I don’t know you but something is going on. Maybe your past coming back to subconsciously haunt you?
If you started humping around a steel reel and dragging a 100 metre 8mm hose all day you could save on that gym membership.
Something to think about?
Enjoy the Maldives. Never been but it sounds very nice.
Send me a postcard!
-
I thought about going to the Maldives but it seems to be the place where all the council house types go these days so will give it a miss.
I only work part time but earn massive amounts of dosh.
I’ve had a tap on my head.

I see no difference from this “tap subject” to you and NWH noshing each other off over hot water..?
The irony being that NWH drives a 100 year old van and you live in a council house and you talk of people feeling inferior ;D

Your easy to wind up....I was joking! ;D
Do what you want...rather you than me though mate.... ;D

Thanks for your endorsement. I will do what I want. And I’m definitely not your mate!
Enough's enough now. Agree to disagree and all that! Have a good day
