It’s good you have a picture report it to the police and trading standards , with that picture he is easily traceable, let us know how you get on scum like this need locking up
-
Won’t be long til you see
‘this window cleaner tried to charge me £80 an hour to clean my windows’ posts ….
-
Perhaps even we should all phone him asking for quotes 😂😂😂😂😂😂

I was thinking that ;D

If that had been my father I would have been on the phone to him straight away.....then the police.

Yeah and you think that’s expensive 🤣🤣 is that Northern prices.

Tow bar on van, only a mobile number which isn't traceable on Google, only accepts cash. 2+2=?

Exactly my point , the OP obviously doesn’t realise how much some of us guys are charging for windows.

But a call to the right people will give you his full name and address in less than 5 muinits 😂😂😂
-

What’s the police going to do? What’s the difference between charging £600 to clean gutters and an insurance company charging 5k for a years van insurance? Both are expensive but is it ok for the insurance company to charge 5k a year?
-
according to google maps for this company via the phone number with its web page they are in Sanfrancisco
but on there site its a different phone number

Escorting some one to get cash to pay you is illegal and classed as demanding money with menace a load of pikeys near me got done for it a couple of years ago , also the police will get reputable company’s to price up the job and if he is extortionately high will use that in court
-
Van is untaxed as well 😂😂😂(http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1658865172_C2A55445-DE5D-447C-B29F-46B35CA5C862.jpeg)

Aside from the escorting to the cash point, if there are loads of window cleaners charging a fiver a house in your area and you are charging £20 , you are in the wrong? I had 4 quotes from plasterers to do rendering, 3 of them were 10-15k, 1 was 4K - an old guy ready for retirement who never put his prices up from 30 years ago… the 3 plasterers are in the wrong?

He’s been a busy boy done 100,000 miles in a year !,, (http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1658866347_2D23CF3C-C5F7-4168-B7F4-AD9F4CD5268D.png)

I can get a full name and address in less than 5 muinits but cannot post it on a public forum more is the pity

Probably been travelling around ;D
-
Only needs to drive through an ANPR camera and he will be getting points and a fine , I have had a word with a friend he’s going to put an alert out on it 😂😂😂
-
It's obvious this guy is a scumbag.£600 to empty some gutters and driving him to the post office to withdraw the money?
Yes some of us earn £80-£120 an hour (occasionally) cleaning windows but it's far from preying on elderly folk and charging extortionate prices...
The reason why he's done over 100,000 miles in a year is he s obviously driving all over the country ripping people off.... ::)roll
-
He needs to up his prices given the cost of fuel.
-
Has anyone actually seen the job in question? Maybe it’s a flippin mansion for all we know
-
Could be innocent.
Quote old chap £600 to do a job
The daft git accepts
You do the job ask for the money
Oh sorry no cash on me I'll have to go to the bank
Not to worry I'll give you a lift
Oh thanks that's much appreciated.
To me it depends what actually happened here otherwise are we calling all quotes what we deem high a crime?
I've been called a rip off before when I've quoted £12 for a semi but they have a choice.

I always think we need to be careful with posts like these.
I’m not saying this is the case….. but imagine if this is someone out on Farcebook to slander another local company and give them a bad name. How do we know this is all the truth?
It could really ruin someone’s reputation if this is all lies.
I’m not saying this is the case, but imagine if someone wanted to take a picture of your van, set up a fake farcebook profile and spread these posts around. It wouldn’t be hard.

hopefully not.....if he's done over 100,000 miles in a year that's suspicious in itself

The Internet is a very powerful tool, and a very frightening one in the wrong hands, let's hope the original source is being 100% honest and accurate.... one post and the lynch mobs looking for a rope.

I know of someone locally who got sent to prison for 2 years for doing illegal vehicle searches on police computers for “mates”.
Quite right too.

Really? - what proof have you got Daz ? - no one knows what size of house is was for - had fun they were - what access there was and maybe there were repairs done as well.
One post from a disgruntled relative and you hang some one out to dry without any evidence or listening to the other side of the story
Its funny, you bang on about record weeks 5* holidays - perhaps you are overcharging ? - would you like others to put you in the bracket of scumbag ??
How many thread have there been where its I put in a really high price not to get the work - then get it and do it ? loads
The only wrong that I can see (if true) is taking the customer down to the post office to get the cash - Thats a No NO whatever the situation (with bank transfer/cards etc)
If and when some real proof comes along I think its better to keep an open mind....

He's done 100k mileage in a year, that's all the proof Daz needs ;D

You can call me a scumbag if you want Darran.....I've been called worse.... ;D....
-
I wouldn't because ive seen the way you've improved yourself over the last 12 years..
but you do suffer envy of others when they for example earn x more than you p/h or price a job up more than you think its worth..
Darran
-
Could have been a change of speedometer with a second hand one from a breakers yard.
It used to work this way at one time with a digital speedometer. If he replaced his Speedo with a used one showing lower mileage, the ECU would update the Speedo with the right current mileage. If the Speedo he used registered a higher mileage, then nothing would happen.

I do not suffer from envy of others who charge more at all...I'm happy with my lot mate...
What I don't like is someone clearly ripping an elderly person off whether they agreed to it or not.they obviously have no moral compass.
-
You don’t know that from one ranting post
Clearly if he gets several complaints then absolutely he would quite rightly get all he deserves
Darran
-
What’s wrong with offering him a lift to the post office maybe he didn’t want him to have to get the bus 🚌 🤣🤣,in all seriousness it’s like taking sweets from a baby in a lot of cases they should take that in to account at court.
-
The mileage is more than like to a mistake on the mot ticket, I had a partner van mot done a few years ago the mileage was 76k odd but on mot ticket it had 176k odd the following year it had correct mileage on 86k
No 60 plate is doing 100k in a year

You would be surprised it’s not difficult to do 100 k in a year with a van look on auto trader there are loads of them

My poor old mum and dad are dead now, but if that had been them I'd have phoned him booked a quote at any old address and when he turned up I'd have smashed his legs to bits with a pickaxe handle and then ped on him piece of poop.
-
Why his legs 🦵 lol.
-
Saves getting done for murder.

Saves getting done for murder.
really? you would still go to prison . also , IMO smashing someone to a pulp is a horrible crime.

It sends out a message though.
That if you take the law into your own hands with pickaxe handle, you'll go to jail.
-
I'd sentence him to 6 hours on CIU ;D

A cruel and unusual punishment if ever there was one.

YES I'd quite happily go to prison. He will get 6 months suspended and a fine.

you don't have children, grand children, or other dependants ?
don't you have a business to run ?
doing time in prison would seem a bit counter productive I would have thought ?
then after prison there is all the probation appointments added to it ,oh and a criminal record
perhaps a little bit of thought before acting is the best policy
-
I read ages ago that in situation like this you should tell your parents to alway say " my son/daughter looks after my money, let me give them a call" no respectable tradesmen would have a problem with this
My mother in law has got it down to a fine art, she’s alway getting cold callers.
-

And a hefty compensatory payout.
You might pay towards that, too.
