;D Yesterday I went back to clean the lady's bedroom carpet and also to sort out my browning problem from last week! I have taken advise from you guys & girls and bought some debrowning powder, I'v been very anxious all week. When I arrived the carpet was fine, no marks at all. I am very pleased because I was devistated for me and the lady to think I had caused such a problem, but could anyone tell me what this was??? and thanks to all who gave me advise.

sometimes you find old stains that appear when wet extraction occurs and then disappear when dry. i had this in a rug i did when someone was sick on it. when the carpet was damp you could see the patch where it was definitely stained [ looked like browning] and once i turbo dried it it vanished, but was obviously still there but not visible

It sounds to me as though the pile is thinner and
shorter on the walkways, and a shading effect from
the backing was showing whilst still damp.
As soon as the carpet was properly dry, the translucence
of the pile diminishes and the effect shows a lot less
or often not at all.
