Title: Resin vessel help
Post by: combat1 on June 11, 2022, 09:08:33 am
Hi All
I have an 11 litre resin vessel, last refill I only tightened the riser hand tight but now it’s locked solid.
Tried gentle taps with a rubber mallet and using mole grips for greater leaverage but locked solid.
Has anyone overcome this problem in the past? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

only do what your doing now - if you can strike the cap at a shallow angle between the in/outlets so the force takes it anti clockwise

I don’t know if it’s the top cap which is locked with what you’re talking about where the riser goes in to,if you take the fittings off either side you can slide a screwdriver through the top through both fittings twist and undo.

Thanks Guys,
Sorted, was a little too gentle with the tapping😂 couple of heavy bangs freed it off.
Thanks for your help.

If you lube the ring with vaseline it makes it easier to come off  ;)

Better to use silicone grease, vaseline is petroleum based ans can actually ruin rubber seals.
