Title: Lost weight window cleaning
Post by: StephenKLA on June 10, 2022, 04:16:13 pm
Hi All.

Been building up our wfp cleaning business over the last six months. Did anyone find they lost weight when you started, I've lost 5lbs in the last 3 months and was getting a bit worried. I have had a lot of stress in the last month with wife being ill and I probably wasn't eating properly.  We've had some quite hard/busy schedules over the last few weeks cleaning also. I did a desk job previously and was pretty inactive. Sometimes at work I do feel it especially doing gutters/siffits/cons etc.  Any feedback appreciated :)

when i started in 1992 I was a traditional cleaner , and when I went wfp  in 2005, I  actually gained weight, as I was no longer running up and down a ladder.
when I was in my 30's I didnt find gutters and fascias  that physicvaly hard but the past few years (I'm 50 now ) I have found them increasingly more knackering.  so I work smarter now and let the chemicals do the work (hypo is now my go to chemical)

Thanks James, I'm 56 so I guess not unusual to find gutters/soffits hard. Thanks for your comments.

Stress will make you lose weight.

It's hard to lose weight without cutting calories.

If you are still eating the same get to the doctors.

Window Cleaning is hard graft. It goes without saying it’ll keep you fit & trim. It’s a physical job.

Have a £22 sushi meal and 2 Japanese beers. It'll soon pile back on  ;D

Hi Simon/Smudger, I'm 56 and been sitting at a computer all day for the last 30 odd years so maybe not surprising! I do enjoy it though, earning three times less but love it 10 times more!  Bungle, I'll try the sushi/beer diet ( maybe swap the sushi for a chicken vindaloo!

Welcome.

Why did you take up window cleaning if you don't mind the question?

Had a six figure job. Covid  hit made me redundant. Lucky had enough pension to pay off mortgage, kind of semi retired but needed something to pay bills. Invested 4k with a mate, started the windows, love it, wish I'd done it 25 yes ago. Any younger ones, definitely say get into it, underrated.

Do this and you'll be fine...... ;D

I've been window cleaning for 29 years and I'm 42lbs heavier at 50 than when I was 21!😄😄😄

Going from an inactive office job to full time window cleaning, I’d be more worried if you hadn’t lost weight.
