Always used Rectus 21 but wondered if the Rectus 26 is any better ?
-
My hands are too big and numb for 21
-
I don’t use any my reel hose is joined the the pole hose with a brass double barb joint and if I need to disconnect the pole to add a section or use the backpack I simply pull the gooseneck off and disconnect from the jg push fit
-
Now on JG fittings as well

I find the rectus 21 to last ages but then i dont uncouple them very often i have 2 man system so 1 pole permanently on each reel so only take them apart maybe once a day to untwist the hose occasionally. Ive not use the 26 but seen them in local suppliers and they look too big for me, apparently they last longer though.

I only use 21s I’ve tried the 26s and hated them to big and bulky for me even when new if you spray the part of the fitting that slides up and down and continue to do that weekly they last months and months,I’ve not done this in the past and some have failed after 3-4 days a few years ago there were Chinese imports going about that were awful I purchased 10 they all failed prematurely went through them all in no time the one I have on now has been on for over 6 months.
Make sure if you get the 21s that are proper Rectus there’s loads of cheap copies about

Tbh at some point I’d prefer to change to John Guest honestly the best you can get for a system-static or pole hose, they don’t leak under pressure I just don’t see why they sell systems with hoselock fittings ok they may be ok when new but under pressure they start to leak and fail in no time.

Yes....I've been using rectus 26s for many years.mine last around 6 months before I change them.
I was changing the 21s within 2 months,really poor...
I disconnect my hose lots of times a day to keep my hot water circulating so the 26s are a lot more robust
