I need to get one.
Anyone use them? Any to avoid? Naturally leaning towards L4 transit but know there must be others that are better?
Cheers

had a transit jumbo for the last 7 years - I'd ever get another - they don't take the weight - they are heavy on fuel and tyres + brakes
if you need a van of that size IVECO seem to be the masters of strong larger vans.
to me it appears most xxl vans are suited to parcel work - large load area but for light weight stuff

Saw this on eBay. Looks like you could live in it too.

I take it this is not for windows ?
It will drive you nuts parking that 20 times a day if it is
Sprinters always seem to have mega miles but rot really bad.
I would look at the boxer/relay/ducato they also seem to have reliable engines see loads for sale with 200k plus mileage.

MAN or vw crafter same Van I have one but mwb awesome van , reliable like driving a big car .

Cheers chaps. I appreciate the input. I need 4200mm in the boot. Big brush!
I saw the transit L4 payload is pretty poor, 1200kg ish. Do you reckon that’s about the norm for XLWB?

I think so for 3.5T - as you have all that extra metal to carry in the body rather than be useful load weight
Have you thought of it (pole) going over the cab? - you might find a LWB plus the extra overhead compartment may get what you need

Got a transit l3h3. Tried measuring it at sorts of funny angles,😄, couldn’t get 4200mm.
Thought about a trailer, but we work away and leaving kit unlocked on a trailer at travelodge etc….
Got to be a jumbo type thing.

My MAN tge mwb is only 1210 payload so Ime surprised an xlw is that much thought they were about 900 kg???

I think transit weight is lighter, allowing bigger payload.
The Iveco looks good. Need cat C1 license though. Did my test in 1999.

You might be better off with some sort of custom made pole carrier to fit on roof rack ?
