Im thinking of installing a DI Vessel in my van , never used one this way b4. Ive been quite happy with tds of 004 coming straight out of 450 Ro straight into water butt . then transfer into van ready to work. Been using this tds for over 14 years now not 1 complaint . i always check the odd one when dried to make sure no spotting. Any one any ideas how long the resin would last me if using daily around 3/400 litres daily with a TDS of 004/5
Anyone any pics as best place to store it. And what size to use so i can start looking for a second hand one to try

Over 24 years without a single complaint? I wouldn't change a thing!!
But, to answer the question, I reckon a 11ltr vessel would last between 8 - 12 months at 004 ppm. Maybe longer.

My mistake 14 years
i used to use a 10 inch di vessle after 450 ro when i first started . dont last long
ive just changed the membranes & filters so back to 004 . it creeped upto 009 which is getting too high . if i had a say 11ltr di vessel handy it would have taken it right down . there used to be a lot of 11 inch Di vessels around 2nd hand . just looked not many about .

Wouldn't bother. I feed three vans - none of which use resin vessels. The water I store on site doesn't exceed 009 before going in the vans. No complaints whatsoever.
I am sure that in the van tanks it is occasionally at 010 to 012 from time to time.

I would bother it’ll last around 3 months before it starts creeping, always use pure water that’s what we call it isn’t it.
A normal size bag with a standard resin bottle will get you 3 changes usually, bottle about 18” in height.

All membranes and filters have now been changed in my 450 ro. Axeon from daqua. best price around . The last lot lasted around 2 years . 3/400 litres used daily . Ill carry on now with a low TDS Save me using Resin ive just cleaned my own with a TDS of 005 happy to say not one bit of Spotting so carry on . Happy Days.
I will look around for an 11 ltre Di Vessel when someone is selling or packing job in . We all love a bargain

If its not broke why change it ?
I haven't used di resin for the last 6 years - when I first started out I did - but the hassle of refilling and shaking and constant checking the TDS on a daily basis ( I use between 1200 and 1600 litres of pure a day ) im glad to be away from all that - I also feel that drawing water through the di vessel places extra stain on the pumps and from time to time a bit of resin found its way through to the jets and blocked them ( fans )

I agree about the strain on the pump issue also, when I install my new static I will be doing away with the Resin in the van and have it on the static instead.

I have been wfp for 16 years. Used resin for the first year but not bothered since. Obviously cheaper, but a big benefit is simply not to have to faff about storing and changing resin. I did have some get through to pump once due to issue with resin vessel.
RO water 003-007

yes if i use one it will be to purify before transferring into the van home static.
been looking into getting a trolley set up from baileys. so with a 4040 and my tap tds around 148 used with a booster pump what would be my guessed TDS coming out of Ro

My water in is around 280 I have an HF5 RO it’s been brilliant it baffles me the way it’s been treated and is still giving me 002-004 after years and hardly ever flushed,I use 2 pre filters before RO not boosted at present but my new static will be boosted as I’ll need more water and tbh I’d rather have it running for just 3-4 hours rather than double that time.

Depends on the membrane make and quality but without resin you should be in the realms of 0.002 to 0.003
