No, but there is a local guy who does evenings round here.
-
I remember SAJ used to start at like 2am to do commerical. He's still on the forum but doesn't post much anymore.
-
Guy round the corner works for one of the big window cleaning companies.......he regularly starts at 4/5am on commercial even in Winter.
-
When I lived in the midlands in the 90’s used to start commercial any time from 5am. Better to avoid heavy foot traffic and no problems getting all the work done. Street lights and shops/commercial units lit up well.
-
I thought this was going to be a 'lost' Sir Patrick Moore broadcast about window cleaning.
-
I used to do a fair bit for national companies, you had to start at 4 or 5 to get it all done in time .
Here in Plymouth you could not be in the city centre main streets after 9 am !
-
I remember once I had both vans parked together after 9 and the camera car went past and double whammied me with fixed penalties
:'( :'( :'(
-
Mind you we were sat in McDonald’s eating breakfast :D ;D ;D
-
I do quite few jobs which need to be done out of hours. Usually involve 2am starts. In fact I did one last week, out at 2, back in bed for 8am. 2 days money on it and still the option to go back out for the afternoon if I want. Suit me perfect.

Yes still clean early but not that early anymore! Start about 4/5am and we use a head torch to see what we are doing ;D
-
I always clean in the dark, so they don't see the streaks ;D ;D

Yes we do. We have done a few shop fronts over the years and done early when there is very little foot traffic about. My lad does the front door inside and outside and I do the front and sides as well as all the signage. In summer it's light, but in winter it's dark. I use a powerful head torch to see.
We have on a couple of occasions gone back to check results and they have been up to my standards. The shop owner is very fussy and we would have heard from her if there was an issue. We also clean their home windows as well.

Like that blind bird does in that 'Hello' video of Lionel Richie's?

I cleaned the windows inside & out of an Iceland store once, on a freezing cold February morning 4 years ago in the dark,
They wanted me to clean the windows, once a week there after, but were trying to negotiate the price down to basically
half the price i had charged them, i politely said No.
That was the one and only and last time i cleaned in the dark. 😫 😎

No I dont, however , one evening last week, I had to pop out and on my way home I did a shop front to save some time in the morning.
If someone had seen me they may have reached the same conclusion. Its human nature to second guess, but things are not always what the seem to be

I have done a couple - grand opening of hotel and bar - full internal clean from 6pm until midnight and a luxury spa in Bedfordshire 11pm start 5 am finish - 2.5hr drive e/w - they were the days :D

Shops in big towns and cities always get cleaned in the dark the shop fronts are illuminated it’s in a lot of cases easier to see if you’ve done a good job,a lot of the time if you see the windows being cleaned at 8-9am they been there a good 2-3 hours.
I know someone that cleans shops from 10-30am till 4 buckets in the way of shoppers etc lots of people about, can’t think of anything worse, most shops are a nightmare these days they used to be the holy grail of window cleaning these days I find them a pain.

Not sure why there's rolling eyes on your post. Wouldn't be too professional to clean when the shops are open would it?
Can't seeing that going too well.
When I did a lot of commercial work I started in the dark for about half the year.
-
The guy I mentioned still starts at around 10 in the morning,I’ve seen them putting chairs out etc rolling their eyes at him I wouldn’t have it at my shop it should all be done by 9ish.
-
We start shops at 07:00 and out of town by 09:00
-
I have in the past done a midnight job on a 3 storey building on a one way road.
In the day it's just not possible because of the traffic and the foot fall. I did over price it because I didn't want the job and still got it
-
You can now clean windows in the dark.
Some times you have not got a choice, early morning or cleaning windows of a night.
This will allow you to clean windows at times it is quite also.

We do loads of commercials in the dark start 6 am use head torches, I also sub out very large block of flats as there are shops below which open early the lads start the flats at 5 am, everyone gets told before hand and most people ok with this,
Just priced posh hotel and they want their health spa completed before 5.30 am
