Me and the wife have.
You lot?
-
Nope managed to dodge it so far.
-
Been lucky not to have had it.
Careful and cautious has been my motto
-
Me ,rough for a one day then fine about 4 months ago
-
No idea...but i have had 3 jabs now....
You cant say for certain you've not had it as lots of cases have zero symptoms
-
I heard someone talking in the pub about 18 months ago , saying they new someone who’s neighbours cousin thought they might have it .
-
My wife had it before the first lockdown. Caught it on the weekend of February 29th/March 1st 2020 in London visiting my daughter at Uni. She lost her sense of smell and had high temperature and was very rough with flu like symptoms for a fortnight and then a week feeling she had absolutely no energy. BUT there was no cough - which is probably why I have never caught it.
We were only certain she had had it and I hadn't when we did an antibody test (for a Bristol Uni Covid Survey) we are part of six months later.
Nothing since. We have had both our jabs plus boosters.
-
Not that I’m aware of. Sisters currently got it. Omicron.
She thinks she caught it at our nephews first birthday party. I was due to go but had to delay as my PCR test result from flying into Heathrow was delayed 4 hours so I felt obliged not to attend.
-

And thats exactly why people are advised to test twice a week.
What has zero symptoms for one can have catastrophic and life changing consequences for the next person they pass it to.

Loads of my friends have had it
We're lucky with our work.. outdoors, often solo, very limited contact

How is she?
-
She seems ok. Reckons it feels more like a cold than anything else.
Thanks for asking.

Jabbed I'd guess.

Listening to the bloke on the news by the rate it’s going (doubling every 2.5days) mathematically we all will have it by New Years Eve
-
currently isolating as tested positive on Tuesday
no idea what variant - had both jabs and booster - so far its been a sore throat and slight flu like symptoms - no worse than when I was jabbed - take a couple of paracetamol and feel right as rain.

Fairly sure I had it way back when all this started in January 20 but we weren't aware it was here at the time, it had only just been announced it was in China but had all the symptoms. I put it down to the worst case of flu I've ever had at the time, turned out it had been here since the beginning of November at the very least.
-
Had it twice so far. Once at the start of the pandemic and a month ago. Both times it was not too bad
-
Had it twice now ffs!
Second time was a lot scarier though. Burning sensation in the lungs and massive memory loss/confusion. I got the second lot via my eye as I had an eye infection just before testing positive. Happened to mention it to customers and a few said they had an eye infection before testing positive.
Seem to be left with confusion/not being able to complete tasks, shortness of breath and fatigue. Currently exhausted by around 12pm every day and I'm getting a lot of sleep!
Also sense of smell and taste are not the same. On the first infection I lost it for around a week.

Strange you should say that. My wife had an irritated eye before hers started. Were you vaccinated for either of your Covids?

Tested positive for it today.
Felt crap since Tuesday and now I know why.
Had it November 2020 as well so round 2 for me.
This time it's been bad fatigue to the point I've not worked last 2 days, continuous cough and mild headache. Bit of nausea this morning but it passed. Mainly just feeling knackered.
Started out same last time then progressed to shortness of breathe, fever, confusion and ended up bed riden.
Hoping it doesn't get as bad this time or worse ::)roll
-
Missus tested positive today! :D
Serves her right for being a complete bitch! :)

No i only had 1 jab back in May
I will admit I have panic attacks and needles make me faint. Ended up having the first jab and almost passing out in the tent in front of everyone.
Too scared to go for another haha

The vast majority of us will have had it ( Omicron ) by the spring. Its inevitable unless you're going to hibernate for the next 3 months. We were going to have mates over for pre Xmas drinks. But seeing as we want to see both sets of parents Xmas day and boxing day, we're postponing the social get togethers until the family bits done. In fact , I'd sooner get the infection done and over with before I return to work in the new year.

Some of my customers are really stressed. We have been lucky working outdoors. Only time I really worry is whilst shopping. Not caught it yet but fully expect to eventually.
Holidays don’t excite me these days, I find other people to be pretty selfish and the thought of cramming myself into a jet plane of germ bags very unappealing.
-
I think a lot more of us have had it than we realised.
Lateral Flow and PCR tests aren't 100% accurate and my kids have been off school with Covid like symptoms after negative tests.
It shot through their school and affected dozens if not hundreds.
I was ill 9 days with the first jab and 5 weeks with the second in July. I'm still not properly well now.

It wasn't conjunctivitis and yes was more of an irritated eye. I had the first jab and was booked for the second one but got it a week before the second jab was due to be done. Booked in next week for a booster though.
-
My brother got covid back in march 2020 and was ill for 2 weeks but symptoms were just mild/moderate.
Hes double jabbed and hes got covid this week, said its the worst hes felt in a long time. Spent 2 solid days with fever, breathless, painful cough, fatigue and even hallucinations. hes been in and out of bed for 5 days now and symptoms slowly starting to calm down. Hes said overall second lot of covid was more intense than the first time but came and went quicker overall.

I'll send you a postcard from tenerife mate.....😄

my partner has worked throughout on a ward treating covid. she is the only one out of her coleages that hasnt had it .
however it could be the case that we have both had it and not known .
this week we have both felt very tired and I have had a sore throat. lateral flow has said negative .
however the lateral flow can sometimes be wrong .
I just dont believe that she can have dodged it TBH.
-
A negative lateral flow doesn't mean that much as they have an accuracy of only 70 percent.
I did 3 lateral flows and one was negative.
A false positive is extremely unlikely.
-
Sounds like . First time you get it , unvaccinated, not too bad . Second time around , vaccinated , really bad .

Reckon ive got omicron atm because its no where near as bad as last time.
I only have cold symptoms now, sneeze, cough, mild headache. i felt really fatigued but now i just feel tired. I dont feel that bad at all at the moment.
Last time was more like flu with fever, chills, nausea, confusion. It was horrible last time, this time its a breeze in comparison.

Missus coughing a lot and hot and cold sweats...she's lost her sense of taste and smell now....
I need to nip round and get the travel plug adapters and towel pegs for the sun loungers for my Xmas holiday... ;D

I have to book a PCR before I fly out for when I get back and a LF 2 days before I fly back...its no biggie really....a slight inconvenience

I was just thinking when I asked that if your missus has it and you're visiting walking the dog you'll probably not pass a PCR.
Is it Covid she has or has she just got a cold?
When I flew back 2 weeks ago on my return leg from Canada I had to do a PCR; I think its within two days of your return, I did mine at Heathrow - they're well set up. But no LF. I think they've cancelled that element of it now as you have to do a PCR...
On my outward bound leg I had to do a PCR within two days of leaving the UK. I think thats down to the destination country though, nothing really to do with the UK govt. So that depends on what Tenerife's requirements are.
-
Yep matt she's got covid and now her daughter(teacher) and boyfriend who live with her have tested positive today...
So tonight I'm on a mission to save Xmas! ;D
I'm taking a loads of presents for her pupils to another teachers house so the kids don't miss out tomorrow(class of 7 year olds!)
This 18 stone elf will save the day!!! 8)
-
Good luck! Im sure if you manage to get out there you'll have a better time than if you'd stayed in the UK.

Sorry to hear that, must be very tough.
Window cleaning is a tough job when you haven’t got your health.
Did you have underlying health issues before covid? It seems you reacted really badly to it, sounds very nasty.

Condolences to you jk999.

Thank you 🤞

Myself and the family all ok.
I've been very careful, (masks when shopping, anti bac etc) because stepson 'Mr Tom' only has 60 percent lung capacity, so have to be really careful for him. I think if he gets it then he's definitely a hospital case!
Off to Lanzarote in January (hopefully), not Tom, so see how that goes.
-
Sorry for your loss Jk. It’s been a rough time that’s for sure.
-
Positive lateral flow test today, been for PCR test so currently awaiting results. I definitely have it tho, been unwell the last two days with mild flu symptoms. On the bright side all my work is up to date, on the downside I’m getting absolute pelters from the wife and daughter because I went to the pub at the weekend ( where I likely contracted it ). We were meant to be going to the pictures today along with two of my daughters friends, I paid for all the tickets online…….it’s non refundable because it was cancelled less than two hours before the film starts…..talk about kicking a man when he’s down eh!😖
-
I tested positive on Wednesday.absolutely no symptoms whatsoever so couldn't go to Tenerife.... luckily my missus and her daughter and boyfriend have also got it so we still had a great Xmas day...

Still no symptoms 5 days on but I'm still testing positive(done a lateral flow this morning)
-
At least all those school kids won’t have caught it.

What's selfish about that? "Luckily my misses and her daughter and boyfriend have also got it." You want other people to be possibly very ill so you can spend Xmas with them.
Sumat else you are.

He had mentioned it last week over on the non cleaning section that his Missus had tested positive for Covid.

I’m going out later today. Pictures, then a meal . Hopefully me or the missus will catch it . Pass it on to our kids . With a bit of luck pass it on to my 80 year old mum . She had her booster in September, so she has absolutely zero protection at the moment . But I’m sure she will be fine .
-
I've not even had any symptoms and tested negative again today so me and the missus are off out today,a bit of shopping, coffee shop and maybe cinema.... 8)
So much for a deadly virus for me....not even a sniffle... :D

People forget the survival rate is over 99% Daz.
Wife works for local nhs hospital, it really is not that bad. Yes it can be, but it’s almost always mild.
Media have really helped whip up the fear.
Everyone is so hypersensitied to death and illness because of covid, when the reality is, bad flu years claim 30-40k deaths. Wife remembers winters where the corridors were lined with flu patients, ambulances queuing. Chaos in the hospital. Every year it’s bad. It’s just never talked about.
Don’t get me started on the inflated fugures as well.
We have to live with it.
Even an over 70 has a survival rate of 97.6%.
Media make people believe it’s the Black Death.
In the wrong body, it’s lethal. So is flu. Etc etc.
How old you again Daz? 40 something? 99.918% survival.
-
Feel sorry for anyone who's had it, it can be nasty, not to be underestimated, even young people have died.
As for me not been right for months, ever since the vaccines and that last one, the booster Moderna has really k*****d me up and a lot of people I know.
Falling asleep all the time, exhausted and aching everywhere, joints swollen, working has been agony.
Not having another one.
Don't care about any Covid passport it has to end somewhere, they are already talking about a 4th jab!

Atleast you won’t be out spreading the virus around after your 3 days in isolation Daz. :o
Today is day 7(tested positive last wed)...
Yesterday and today 2 negative tests so I'm free to go out according to the new rules!🙂👍
Yous have it too easy😜 we are still 10 days, I’m on my sixth day now. Daughter just tested positive last night😢
No need for you to isolate for 10 days mate if you test negative on a lateral flow on day 6 and 7....your a free man... ;D

I've not even had any symptoms and tested negative again today so me and the missus are off out today,a bit of shopping, coffee shop and maybe cinema.... 8)

Stepdaughter is still testing positive 8 days on..plus she's totally lost her sense of taste and smell...
I think she hates the fact me and her mum could go out shopping today... ;D
And yet more gloating. I don't know who to feel more sorry for.....

I'm 50 now and I've had 3 jabs of the pfizer vaccine mate...maybe that's helped?
Even without the jab mate, your statistics are the same bar about .004% ;D
Hope Darran is doing ok (the other one) seem to recall he had a positive test a week or so ago

Who me?
Yes I'm all good - according to the hospital I had the latest version - as I am "vulnerable" they do more tests to see the variant.
Wife also had it - worse than me mainly I think because a. She missed her booster and b. Likes the attention of being poorly 😂
3 days of sore throat and mild flu like ache - had a lateral flow yesterday and that was negative all my hospital visits have been in isolation with the nurses in full ppe 😷
Thanks for asking
Darran

My missus calls me 'Dazmondo the great'....After 9 years of being together I'll take that as a compliment!😄😄
