Title: Body Lotion
Post by: M Walker on July 18, 2006, 08:49:51 pm
I have had a request from a customer regarding a recent spillage on her new cream wool carpet, Apparently she has tried to clean up the stain herself and it has left a brown mark she has contacted the manufacturer of the lotion to find it contains a tanning agent. Oh dear is there anything I can try? I have the complete range of prochem spotting and stain removal kit but have not experienced this one before I fear she may have with the attempted removal ruined any chance of getting out the stain. Your advice would be very much appreciated.

Mark
Before you commence this you should explain to the customer the expectation of success as the stain may now be set.

Before starting, rinse thoroughly to remove the residues of the customers actions and dry as much as possible.

Tamp with something like Solvall or Eco Spotter (to tackle any oil content) and blot with dry towel. If you get a transfer repeat procedure.

For persistent dye staining there are three basic approaches.

1.Treatment as a tea/coffee stain. Use your Tannin remover.

2.Thermal transfer with Prochem RedRX or Chemspec Juice and Dye Remover.

3. A oxygen bleaching treatment.
