What do you listen to whilst splashing and dashing?
Spotify is great but there's some great entertainment out there to pass the time.

I'm not the most chipper of people but it depends a lot on your perspective.
I drive around the beautiful countryside in my truck, listen to great comedy, drink tea, meet some nice people, and while I'm out there, clean some windows

We have the privilege of earning a very good living and at the same time bettering ourselves with podcasts or audio books, or enjoy entertaining radio, and pass the day by very quickly.
It’s all down to perspective. ;D

Just out of curiosity for those that employ, do you allow your employees to wear headphones/earbuds and listen to music while they work?

I luv the outdoors and i have actively built a round in Nice areas a lot in rural locations
Accompanied by classic rock on my headphones i can't believe I'm also earning at the rate of a London banker but without the corruption 😁😁😁

No earphones? Darren that’s a bit mean isn’t it? I would find it incredibly boring without something to listen to especially if I worked alone

I'm with Darren on this no earphones allowed while working , reason for this is safety we are regularly standing in road to work and also they are being paid to concentrate on cleaning windows and working. When we pull up at a job we want it done fast and to a high standard also when working in a team you can't communicate with colleagues if they can't hear you

I drive round the local town full of chavs, fight past wheelie bins, car tyres and dog turds and rarely speak to anyone. From the moment I start I can't wait to finish. Haha
I used to love it when starting out and growing the round etc but once you become full you realise you've just created a full time job for yourself, there's no more challenge of growth and it becomes stagnat, monotonous .
Some days I do enjoy it and get a burst of motivation but it rarely last longer that the odd day.

not really.....we all escape life in various ways.....whether its unhealthy things like using alcohol,drugs,etc or being creative with art,playing a musical instrument,making or fixing stuff and exercise......
ive always liked listening to music and it just happens i can familiarize myself with certain drum parts which helps when learning new songs with my band,audio books can also be good for questioning your own thoughts and beliefs and learning new stuff....all the while im out in the fresh air,getting a bit of exercise and earning good money too for a short working day...
the freedom and flexibility in this job is astounding....i thank my lucky stars im not landscape gardening anymore working long days for rubbish money and not having much time(or too tired!)for hobbies/leisure time......NOW THAT IS DEPRESSING! :D

Same as a London banker wow that's some round to be pulling in 150 to 250 k with bonuses prob 500k you must have some great prices

I had areas that i didn't like, so i got a professional website that targeted where i did want to work, when that expanded my round sufficiently i sold the stuff i didn't want
I've still got the website after six years and it's worth its weight in gold
I couldn't stomach working on chavvy estates now

In Cheshire you can get great prices, i just work about 10 hours a week instead of a 60 hr grinding working life week after week, like maybe some London Bankers 😁
Time when lost is priceless and something you can never get back
Some Comercial work still brings in incredible hourly rates, as usual i don't talk figures on here 😁😁

my round is never stagnant...its always changing...picking up(and losing!)the odd job here and there,sometimes dumping jobs too because i dont like cleaning them for whatever reason,the refining never ends no matter how many years you ve been going
from day one back in jan 1993 ive always tried to canvass/drum up work in a leafy suburb/semi rural location which is a 15 min drive from where i live....over 10 years ago now i sold most of my dross work and concentrated solely on this 3 mile affluent area...now i have over 300 jobs within this area......
as for full time hours window cleaning......not me...lifes too short to be working all the time
ive worked 99 hours in the last 4 weeks and that includes end of day jobs,admin,etc... ;D

Yes, I appreciate that. Some of my work is in town too but the vast majority is in the countryside.
I have a few manor houses and other large detached places where I managed to focus most of my work.
Devon / Dorset & Somerset are rather nice to trundle around - though I try and avoid Lyme Regis at the moment- unless I can get out very early. It'll be better next month when everyone's gone home.

Yeah just think you could be sitting at home claiming for this and that living in a 3rd or 4th floor flat and having no money and no chance at going on a lovely holiday etc,I think I’ll carry on scrubbing glass for a bit longer 🤣

Everything becomes boring in the end of you do it long enough it’s having things outside work that stop you getting bored.
