Title: Early starts/early finishes on domestics to avoid the heat
Post by: AuRavelling79 on July 21, 2021, 03:41:35 pm
Normally I don't start cleaning domestics much before 9 am.
Yesterday I did a commercial starting at 7 am and I have phoned two customers with to start tomorrow at 7am and 8 am respectively. Anyone else do this?

Is it really that hot?? We haven't changed anything this week, still working 8-5pm and getting through normal amount of work. Drinking more water gritting teeth and just getting on with it with a little more rest in the evening to regain strength for the next day. Chap who works for me is training for the army so if he moans about the heat I just laugh and tell him to man up 😁

starting at 8 am
monday worked until 3
yesterday worked till 2  and same today , tomorrow and friday will be 1 o clock finish.

I  find it hard going.
my poor partner works as a nurse ,  she has two 12 hour shifts back to back, and for part of the day is in PPE.
they cant use fans on certain wards because of covid.
so I try not to moan to her  ;D

i just roughly work my normal hours....i can work in most weather if im only working 5 or 6 hour days....i do take a few more cold drink breaks and even sit in my van to cool down for 5 mins here and there if the heat gets too much.....

i was dead on my feet by 3pm today and was glad to finish.....
