As above, suggestions required for my transit connect
Don't mind spending a bit for a nice one 👍

I would go for the power up 3D reel
From window cleaning warehouse
-
If you want non electric the Hannay is the best, although i think Cox is very similar.
My Hannay is 15 years old, but if i ever change my van I will get an electric reel.
-
No electric reels for me, I'll check Hannay out though, cheers lads

i have a manual blue cox reel from grippatank....these reels are awesome mate if you dont want an electric reel.....very robust, smooth and easy fit 100m of microbore on..... :)

https://www.bridge-engineering.co.uk/hannay-reel-selector
The one I have is 1520-17-18
It very easily holds 100m of 8mm hose.
Select the lawn care option. I cannot get a link directly to the reel. Website takes a few seconds to load.

I know you use electric Daz
Are you saying that you have a manual one for sale?

no mate.....i keep it as a spare........i always have spares of most things for work

No worries, cheers for the recommendation, I'll probably go for one of those.
Are the manual ones around the £300 mark?
I'm also planning on getting a hose guide from Grippa to mount near my back van doors, it's the way I like to work👍
Its about 7 years since I fitted a system in a van of my own.
Previous van I had a hose guide on the floor of my Van and ran the hose through and under the floor.
Not cutting a hole in this van, even though that worked great for me for years

Either electric ...
or Claber.
Cheap as chips. Light to lift in and out - Especially when loaded with reinforced pole hose. Less than £50.
People go for the lightest poles - why not the lightest hose and reel?

The claber reels are nice just a shame the weak point is the plastic centre spindle that easily shears off , if they replaced that with alloy it would be a top reel .

From his post he wants a floor mounted reel. The Hannay and Cox both run on bearings, are smooth to reel in and if my experience of the Hannay is anything to go by will probably last a lifetime (I think my body will be worn out before my hose reel).

you just cant compare a claber reel to a cox/hannay reel...they are worlds apart....the claber reel is a mickey mouse reel and too flimsy for window cleaning IMO

And yet still I clean with them. 🥳

Thanks for the help lads, I've changed my mind about doing stuff DIY
I'm getting a face-lift compact system fitted including hose reel
Only got 18 months till retirement and then I'll keep the van and do a few hours a week.

You get what you pay for i suppose, I used
a claber reel for years before it wore out though 😁

I happily use extremes and replace regularly for lightness.
I happily use Claber and replace when needed. BUT most window cleaners miss a trick... they don't use reinforced pole hose, they use microbore. You can't hold 30 m of micro bore in your hand at the corner of a building before marching with it to the farthest point.
A light reel that can be lifted out and pointed in the right direction is great too.
I view the Claber like an extreme. It just happens to be cheap.

Wow (gold😂😂)
I admire your power of lateral thought 😍😁😁👌

You could get a Grippa system for not much more, crash tested and I would think better quality.

Yeah I visited Window cleaning warehouse for the first time at the Liverpool depot
Impressed with the compact van system.
Nearly went for the power up HD reel but decided to stay manual.
What system have you got installed in your van Swanson?
I'm having a system fitted in 2weeks.
Also what part of Cornwall do you live in, i know Cornwall quite well from loads of hols down there

Was thinking of changing the order up to the 3D reel after I'd visited WC warehouse
Anyone have much experience with these reels??

I have the hd version for a couple of years now and it’s been faultless
I wondered why you seem so against a leccy one, but then it’s your business

Could not justify the outlay until I hit 64 and developed a hernia thanks for your reply
Dazmond will say, I told you so
Also I worked with one the other week and saw the benefits
Looking forward to using my own one now.

Make sure it's the current updated version with the metal center spindle and improved switch, also the motor is more powerful than the first version. It's a vast improvement.

Have to agree with that.
