Post by: Richard iSparkle on June 25, 2021, 06:08:29 pm
i'm not loving sky vacs prices or poles any longer (they keep breaking)

can anybody recommend either of the companies above?

They break rather easily when lifted horizontally.

I used grippa with gardener poles previously and they were far stronger

Get yourself a set from carbon fibre tubes

Cheaper and stronger

Can’t comment on the g force poles but have the full set of of carbon guttervacsystems poles and I can’t faulty them mate. Even fully extended the hold up against stacked gutters no problem.

Customer service is also second to none

I buy a wet/dry vac off Amazon for £180 - a side entry off grappa - streamline etc  £40  and jobs done

Both I have brought are now over a year and used 3 to 4 times a week with no issues

I see no reason to pay £400  + for essentially the same vac

Same as sky vac you can get the nilfisk equiv. For under half the price

Huuuum not experienced that had mine around 18 months and used a lot they don’t feel as strong as carbon fibre tubes ones I must admit but not broken any and we work up to 60 feet with them it is a bit bend at that height I had the carbon fibre tubes ones fir over 10 years they are very good but can be a pain to get apart when they stick .

It's the working horizontally that seems an issue

We recently had one on a mill 4 stores up but no access except a  dormer above and we sucked out from there horizontally 40 ft - it was hard and tested the poles and muscles alike but they did survive

I think they were £320 + vat ( give or take ) thats a set of 5 and they are 2 meters long ( oh yes and 2" diameter.) not a silly 38 mm (1.5 inch)
