So my Ford Transit Connect has been playing up was actually booked into the garage for this afternoon but broke down this morning. I thought it was the turbo, but tow guy said he thinks the clutch has gone.
Just curious as to know what is a reasonable cost for getting a new clutch for either the van i have or in general.
My garage will be getting it done regardless but was curious to know if you guys have had problems or clutch going on you and the cost of it etc.
Thanks

I get 3 prices
but to be fair the local garage has good rep and reasonably priced so I just pass the van straight to him

Just had my transit custom dual mass flywheel done along with the clutch, was about £950 fitted.
So clutch alone in a connect shouldn’t be too much by comparison…

I’m not a mechanic but doesn’t it depend if it’s just the master cylinder or the whole assembly ? My master cylinder went and it wasn’t too much around £300

Got one done in seat Inca cost me €1200

Expect to be around a bag of sand ( £1000 ) it’s my understanding that u might as well replace the mass fly wheel if u doing the clutch at the same time

Not sure the connect has a DMF?

Had clutch replaced on my dispatch 2 years ago at 113k.
It was a 5and 1/2 hour job and in total was £750 approx. It is a 15 year old van and does not have a dmf, but I think all newer vans do.
The cost of clutch replacement will partly depend on hours involved. Some models are quicker to do than others. If it has a dmf makes sense to get that replaced at the same time.

My Berlingo's in for a new clutch today. No dmf but price inc. a new ball joint ( or something or other ) and a skim to recondition the flywheel . All in was £570.

No, the garage I use is very trustworthy. I doubt it was the exact same van, my dispatch is 15 years old and the model has changed twice since then.

Bit weird driving up to Sheffield from Essex to have a clutch replaced? ???

Got my clutch sorted along with about 4 other things that caused it to fail the MOT. Everything fixed and MOT Done for £839.
Was around the figure i was expecting so can't really complain. Still i am not happy with my transit connect at present, it was fine until about 4 months ago but now its cost me alot of money in the last 3 months. 4 Visits to the garage!!!!

Transits are a lot easier to change a clutch on compared to a dispatch

not really i pass there going home so its a drop off the m1 and these guys are the best and half the price of people that dont know what there doing
they keep 500 taxis on the road in Sheffield hence why they do the job better and quicker then anybody else they carry most things in stock where others have to order in ect ect
