Clean It Up

I have/had a customer who lives on the busy A4 between Bristol and Avonmouth and who, as they often do started out well but got dropped.
Original plan was fronts every 8 weeks, backs every other time. This I allowed to get into a pattern of fronts every time and backs on request.
Then Mrs D who has her mother living in a Granny extension wants them all done every time.
But Mr D. would play the 'don't do the backs this time' or 'I can't find the key' and long story short I walked away in December.
So I get a phone message from Mrs D asking where I am, am I still coming etc.
I phone back and get through to the MIL and I explain the situation and she says 'pay no attention to my son-in-law he is a nasty piece of work' :o
I close the convo pleasantly saying I don't want to be involved in family arguments over windows etc.
Then Mrs D the daughter phones me all apologetic and explains that Mr D 'will not be a problem I can assure you' and please will I start again.
So with a first clean price and a raised on going price we will try again.
See how reasonable I can be? 🤣

A thoroughly riveting read, who said window cleaning was dull

Couldn’t be bothered with it once dumped we never go back under any circumstances, plenty of decent customers out there to bother with ones like this .
-
Correct splash, why all this bending over backwards malarkey for a pain in the arse awkward customer, dump forget and move on

no clear access to the rear of the property coupled with the busy main road would be enough for me to not take the job on in the first place never mind a second time!

Where did you get the no clear access to the back idea from?
The busy main road is why I do over twenty houses in a row of thirty who have the fronts done - mostly every 4 weeks.
When they want the backs done there is clear access.
Someone on here said sometimes it's worth training a customer rather than immediately dumping.
I think Mr D may have been trained for me by his wife and MiL.
If not then the 'flounce' is ready. 🤣

in your first post you mention mr D using an excuse like saying he "cant find the key" so i presumed you needed access through a locked gate

Take him back on and crack on, it’s another paying job along the same road as other. Hopefully u will pick the other 10 custards up along the road.
Can’t understand why others wouldn’t take him back on it’s another job next to others u already doing

Its a strange buisness .... you can go for months and months , and then all of a sudden you can get messers .
I have had 3 this evening, that I text for tomorrow .
I am picking up new work every week on an already full schedule . thats without the add ons . messers are like a bad tooth. you need them gone ;D
I am hot sweaty and tired so I blocked them and deleted their number.
I also need to get some false teeth ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
