Thinking of building a website for my business. A friend thinks it will be a pointless exercise and won’t get me any new customers. I’m not sure. Question to people who have one already - do they generate new customers at a reasonable rate or very very rarely?
Thanks

Wouldn't be without mine - generates a fair bit of work - usually the high end stuff like commercial cleaning ( brick cleaning and roof cleaning ) got us into some big housing maintenance companies
and we recently did a 25k leaflet drop - the web saw a huge influx of visitors and enquires for services

We get 20-50 enquires per week average from ours not all leads to work as don’t need anymore so I turn a lot down but I think an on line presence is important in this day and age especially if trying to build a round . Our website only costs a very small seo annual payment Nathaniel Jones at Avondhu internet services did it years ago and has just updated it I would thoroughly recommend him excellent job at a reasonable price .

+1 for Nat Jones
I built a free one which brought some in, i pay £30 a month now, absolute bargain.
Winding down towards retirement now but I just take best stuff on, refine my round and sell other work off
Easier than slogging at my age.
Got a job to price on Wednesday, probably £2000 job as a one off, may get it every. 6 months or so.
I'll just sub contract out to other windies and will earn good money for probably half a days work.
Without the website, nada
My free website which is still up generates hardly a bean nowadays
