Title: Pump controllers recommendations
Post by: jk999 on May 19, 2021, 06:34:21 pm
Can anyone recommend a decent controller and where to buy from, some of the prices of them are extortionate 😕

Spring v16 from any supplier seems the way to go.

Bought my original digital spring controller (Gardiners branded) second hand, 8 years ago...still going strong and still used every day. (On a side note, the shurflo pump I bought with it, again second hand, is still being used)

Recently bought another spring digital controller (from purefreedom) to replace an analogue controller we were using. It only lasted about 4 years in comparison.

We’ve had six or seven Spring controllers over the years. Various versions on various systems. Never had a problem.

my vote is for spring ( or whichever branded name it has on it ) been pretty trouble free - other than when they were wired in badly and blew the circuit board - recently brought the V16 - lovely controller

My advice is don't buy the cheap Ebay ones - they rely on the pump pressure with to cut the flow - and if they goes t!ts up then there is an awful lot of melted mess in the van

just to add if you email Ian Shepard and list what's wrong with the controller he can let you know if it can be repaired

had 2 repaired in the past - just an internal fuse - the other cant remember but cost £35 +postage to get 2 working controllers - better than the £85+each new

Never could stand the digital controllers. I got a spring analogue, prefer it so much more.

Yep that's what thought less to go wrong with analogue controllers and won't draw as much power out off battery 🙂👍

We have the digital ones but I've used a cheap Ebay one for years as a second controller (our vans are a two man setup).

As always on 12v , fuses matter, so don't skimp on that part of the job. It's been faultless.

Hi JK, Drop me an email to ian.sheppard@springltd.co
We are always willing to look at controllers and advise what the issues are and costs before carrying out a chargeable repair.

Cheers

Analogue ones are just easier if you are turning them off between jobs. Spring of course.

I'm sure these controllers need a working pressure switch in the pump to work correctly, Vin.
