Hey Lads,
In the market for a new 40 Ft plus pole, would you recommend the Extreme, and if so, can you fit a univalve? The website advises against this so not sure, plus the pole hose options are very limited on the Gardiner website. Or is there a better pole out there for this kind of height? My SLX 47 is not up to the task, way too much flex. Thanks in advance, Phil.

Yes, the Extreme is an excellent (albeit expensive) pole.
I have used a univalve with my Extreme-22 without problem for a few years now....

yep....i have a univalve fitted to both my xtreme 25 and xtreme 47...no problems, you need the PU pole hose for operating the univalve(its far more hardwearing than other types of pole hose too)

I would use a Gardiners tap with 47 feet, I definitely wouldn't use a univalve.

Thanks for the input lads, will get one sorted.

its actually ok...its far better than using a tap IMO(ive used both over the years)

ive used a univalve in my extreme 22 and super max 47ft compact the 47 is a banana at full stretch but univalve works fine i now use a tap as i fancied a change but its a hassle going back to univalve soon one thing gardners say the univalve voids the warranty but its never caused a issue with my poles think its more of a alex dont like steve type of thing and you cant use your products on my poles ;D

Its a shame that gardiners don't talk to exceed and produce a lower part goose neck where the univalve is integral and fixed -this would remove the need for a hose stop and the bottom could be a jg fitting allowing easy connection/removal of hose

Univalves arnt recommended for poles over 30 feet that is said by Steve the designer of the univalve .

I haven't got a a valve on larger poles as i find its either one or two windows or half a days work, when its in constant use , when looking up I tend to stand on the hose at times which would lead to the univale switching off .

Oh ok, perhaps it was just me, I found my pole hose was too stretchy and the univalve was a bit 'hit and miss'.
The tap just seemed a bit more 'sure'.
