My pole hose gets tangled nearly every house.
Worse on my SLX-37 than my SLX-25 but that even gets tangled.
I currently make circles with the hose when putting it away in the van and hanging it on a hook. Thats what tangling it somehow.
Is there a better way?
-
When you circle it up don’t start with the end of the hose first or the connector end, circle it up from the bottom of the pole first occasionally it will only tangle into 1 loop but it won’t tangle up silly.

Thats what Im doing mate.

The best way to get round this either reel it onto the hose reel when you’ve finished “I hate doing this” or shorten the pole hose,if you shorten the pole hose you won’t have any problems.
The good thing about a long pole hose is that in a lot of cases you can pulll round the back of a house and do a large run of windows without needing excess microbore also pulled round with you,I would reduce the length of pole hose.
-
Another thing you can do is use a Velcro strap that helps a lot.
-
Use the least amount of pole hose that you can. Try changing hose
-
Tbh the shorter the pole hose the better easier to put away etc I would always use a pole hose over internal valves etc over time they leak regardless of what people say,you want the least amount of joins you can get away with.

If I switch to tubeless does the reel hose (microbore) then feed up the pole?

If I switch to tubeless does the reel hose (microbore) then feed up the pole?
All depends how you do it , we have 30 meters of pole hose attached to the microbore hose and its reeled (http://www.cleanitup.co.uk/smf/1620496472_05B78F0E-5BE1-4293-BB8C-A04DD91584E3.jpeg) onto the reel as well

Love the set up splash talk about getting the most out of a space. Its puts my messy back of van set up to shame🙈

Do you use the same connector on both ends of the hose - female/male ez snap?

I remember this conversation several years ago - and I think spruce hit the nail on the head and I can confirm it by my own use and some of the guys - I have never had tangled pole hole but 2 guys did and basically they constantly rotated their pole in one direction when taking off the van while working and then returning to the van they would always use a clockwise action over a week the hose started to tangle every time it was used - going up to a point is was a birds nest as soon as it hit the ground - if you can try to twist the pole the opposite way when returning to the van from how you pulled it off

Some wants to be coiled up clockwise some wants to go anti-clockwise if you coil it the way it wants to go it won’t tangle.

Exactly what used to happen with the old corded telephone handsets.
Used to drive me crazy when I worked in an office.
People pick up and turn the handset then turn it again the same way when they hang up, instead of turning it back the opposite way.

Just hook it on some thing like this when the pole is a bit shorter.
At least you don't get tangled in the pole tubing when using.

Also you could try winding out all the hose.
Run hot water through it couple minutes straighten.
Then run cold water through it.
Then reel it in should be less tangles in it when winding out.
-
Get the Exceed hose they use on tubeless for pole hose....it never kinks.

Lol you just don’t listen and learn do you we moved away from that type of set up 15 years ago Herman .

OK the problem is that the hose is tangling as said run hot water through the hoes/tubing unwind out straight.
Check this out it some we done to straighten irrigation poly pope gardening hose.
Could do this with any other hose that are new get the coils out of it.

Yes on the reels and the hose and the joints between microbore and pole hose

Yes YOU may of moved away from this set up.
It seems that you have done well with your set up now after 15 years.
But there are many people that still use them they have to start somewhere.
And for these people that putting up for.
And the main problem seems it is the water switch's on the belt leaking.
This simple solution may of solve that problem.
Also regarding the hook to hold the pole hose was to show where you can put the excess pole hose in stead of tangled around your feet.

do you not get weather in Australia ?
Many days here the ground is wet - so that hose hooked up on your waist is going to transfer water and dirt onto your cloths

You will not have tangles after you do this.

i'm note sure anyone else uses 1/2" poly pipe for their wfp set up - I cant think of a worse choice TBH
Herman get yourself some mini or micro bore hose then you won't have to get ratty with the birds nest created

As said earlier that this can be used on any hose to straighten them. ::)roll ::)roll ::)roll

We coil our hoses up when we put our poles away in the van.
Before we connect our poles up to our hose reel hose we spin the hose out and uncoil it. It takes a few seconds and we don't have a problem.
If I don't do that then I get the birds nest when trying to extend the pole.
As Darran says, my problem is that I work one way and my work procedure tends to coil up the hose. If we are doing a run of houses I have to couple my pole hose and uncoil it now and again. It's me and the dyslexic way my brain works. I can never work out which way I need to turn the pole to uncoil the pole hose if I don't disconnect the pole hose. For me it's quicker to go back to the basics. ;D

I work with a trolley but basically have the same issue. Mostly I turn to my right when finishing a window which translates to one clockwise revolution per window. So as I walk away from each window, I roll the pole in my hand one turn in the opposite direction. This works pretty well for me mostly.
However, if I don't quite get it right and I notice the hose starting to twist up off the floor I will disconnect the hose at the base of the pole or the trolley and untwist it till it lays flat and reconnect.
When I finishing up I disconnect at the trolley before I walk back toward my vehicle allowing the hose to lay out in a straight line behind me. Once I've done that it becomes much easier to untwist if need be, and coil it up.

I've done this with most of my new PU pole hoses over the years. It helps tremendously with brand new hose but doesn't really help if you're putting a twist in you hose whilst working. You need to work out how you are putting the twist into the hose and then work out how to manage the hose whilst you work to keep it as twist free as possible. Once you have done that you've won the battle.
You might still however, have the occasional mishap such as the 'helpful' customer who picks up all your hose and throws it out the gate after you in a big heap. ;D ;D. This has happened to me a few times.
-
I find that since I have been using hot water I dont get this issue anymore ;D
I am very fortunate that I live in a soft water area . {around 55ppm. } I can fill my tank with hot water through the DI every morning .
It stays very warm all day in an insulated tank.
I also find that taking time and having a set way of planning things out rather than rushing about actually saves more time .

Problem solved.

Eh? Owen, please put more effort into your replies if you can as you never make any sense.
Cheers.

The only way to have a hose in a tangle that doesn't just pull out is to pass the end through a loop of hose at some point.
So, loop the hose from the pole towards the end but leave a long piece at the end hanging down at the end so it can't pass through the loops. Always worked for me.
