I softwash them, easiest way.

Wfp does a much better job takes a bit longer but no blasting water into roof spaces etc

Hypo zesty? I generally spray weak mix on them as long as no clothes on lines nearby

Yeah a weak ish mix, left to dwell for 20 mins, then a rinse off with some scrubbing if needed...

I softwash them lately. its becoming my prefered method .... weak mix like 1 part hypo to 15 parts water
I also wet the gutters first to stop them turning pink or yellow.
although they do return to white after a while .

I had a serious scare bout 6 weeks ago . Sprayed on weak mix, went to front of gaf. Potential custie walks up to me . Chat to her price job and go back around gaf and gutters had pink streaks i nearly lost my life i scrubbbed and scrubbed and eventually through fading or whatever they went back to normal. 1st time it happened me and I've been doing them that way for 5+ years and i do a lot of fsg cleans

Spray with water and soak. I apply chems through a pump sprayer (Virosol, Ubik, No nonsense Degreaser or Dave Kemp TFR) whichever you prefer. I am trying them all at the moment, not sure yet.
Agitate, leave for a couple of minutes then scrub off.
If all else fails, then a weak hypo mix should fix it. I never spray this, just mix in a bucket and apply with a brush...an old brush!
Any of the above chems should do a good job. Leave the Hypo until you have tried the others.
PS don't pressure washer them.

How bad are these jobs that you need to softwash? I do 2 or 3 a week on average and 90% of the time just cold pure water does a great job. The other 10% I’ll use Virosol or a basic degreaser.
-
To softwash is really a shortcut as your applying chemicals at a low pressure unlike p/w - but you can do a complete house in under 30 minutes
I only "softwash" when roof cleaning as we have the right equipment already in use - a word of warning if your not really careful you don't get all the grime and cobwebs off like you do when using a brush
WFP for me is the best - if it's green tfr but you can't beat pure water and scrubbing for the best deep clean and finish

I used to use virosol also.... I had a face book enquiry for a fsg, which I priced by using google maps .
I overpriced it as I dont usualy like fb enquiries . she accepted
when I got to the job it was absolutely minging .
so i decided to use a hypo mix.
I was amazed with the speed and results . it cut the time in half . so since then I have used hypo mix .
it is quicker, but I still dont like doing them . ;D

It’s more that it’s just easy and quick mate, I got fed up of scrubbing them, it’s not much fun cleaning fsg’s.
So a low pressure softwash mix sprayed on makes it so easy and more than twice as fast.

i always tend to get up ladders to buff dry with scrims, you can see what you would leave behind otherwise. especially one which have vents on underside all the way along.

Really?rather u than me mate....why dont you wrap a scrim around your brush and mop the drips up from the ground?its a lot easier, quicker and your not risking your neck up a ladder.....

Very big detached fsg today and backpack kicked the bucket felt like it was 1950 trying to do it without 🙈 how long do your backpacks last u daz? Ill be buying my 4th now in 8 years surely thats bit heavy for moderate use, maybe not i dunno. I always rinse them thoroughly after every use and never put too strong of mix thru it 😭

What's died on it ? If it's the pump they are easy to replace.
I wfp mine, dip my brush in some tfr and wipe of drips after a rinse

And me, i fill an unger bucket with virosol and water and place it at poles length from position im in and lower brush into it and then back up.
put a hairband around your wrist or glove and water never gets past my wrist , Easy peasy.
i have a softwash unit that has never been used , but i wonder how easy it could be with it.

I always found they lasted 3-4 years then started getting switch and wiring issues so I just bought a new one cheap as chips at £115 less than one job and it’s paid for .
-
Yeah i was messing round with wiring earlier getting nowhere and was thinking same as that splash.
