Title: help please with solar panel pricing
Post by: Richard iSparkle on April 27, 2021, 04:49:00 pm
i have a large farmhouse with solar panels to quote tomorrow.

They cover one side of a roof 150x40ft.

How would you price it up? They want it doing every 2nd year... so its a one off price i'm giving them

thanks

So how many panels is that - good access ?

Solar panel Steve would offer you 35p each  ;D

Without seeing it I would use a mewp to get the best angle and price it for 2 men a whole day + hire of m/c + 50% as its bespoke

One factor in pricing the job for me would be the pitch of the roof.

If the pitch is say 45 degrees, it would be much easier than a shallow pitched roof.

Sounds like a mornings work depending on height , maybe a scaffold tower or mewp as well £400-600 plus hire costs plus VAT

Price it according to some sort of day rate you're happy with.

Stop wondering how many panels it is...

I do a stretch of a 100ft x8ft  twice a year at a house I do I charge 100 takes 30-40 minutes to do,easy job the only part that gets dirty is the metal join along the bottom of each panel where it collects dirt about 1/4” wide.
Pennies a panel lol is that price for the solar panel farm just outside Vegas.

Only weak mix of tfr - only dust and bird strike on these - I think 600 panels in total

Rotary brush and mini fsc to clean off

Used to get a pound a panel off you know who for roof work guess he added his fee on top  hope it helps
Learnt so much about doing them would love to share but they are hard pitiless work I wouldn’t wish on anyone
Farms are the worst 2 yearly suggests they are going to be really bad  and very hard to clean a wet rainy day is your friend   Get the biggest pole you can find and it’s still not long enough !!

No mate, something different. Panels where about 18” wide and maybe 10’ long. Mounted in a frame.

Can’t seem to post photos.
