Title: Electric reel and pump to main battery
Post by: mjm on March 20, 2021, 01:19:07 pm
Can I do this or do I have to have a split charge relay.   I mean remove the leisure battery in the back and just wire pump controller and reel all to van battery

of course you can

the risk is flattening your van battery and being broken-down miles from home/anywhere

Leaving the engine running whilst working is illegal and would invalidate your insurance should anything happen , it wouldn’t cost to much to add a battery and split charger but you will need to do a fair few miles to keep the battery charged up well

...... and if Mr Plod happens to see an unattended vehicle in the street with the engine running, that's a fine if they could be asked.

Do you charge your leisure battery daily?

Do you charge your leisure battery daily?

Every 2 days I get down to 12.3.   Then I charge. Takes about 3 hours to bench charge

What charger do you use? And what leisure battery?
