Any of you guys ever had a k systems fitted?
Having problems with battery as when I use the pumps and electric reels I lose power but if I leave van running it works fine..dont know anything about battery and wiring just wondered if anyone has experienced the same? Or could help with what I need to do

I don’t have their system but it sounds like a voltage issue.
Do you have a way of testing the volts of the battery?
Do you bench charge the battery at all?
It could be totally flat.
-
No I don’t have anything to test the charge, guess I could buy a voltmeter to test it..it’s only 10 months old so not sure why it would be knackered. There is a wire from the leisure battery running to below steering wheel going into the fuse box?

I have a K sytem .It's a about 4-5 years old now .They have replaced the battery within 6 months and than the other one wasn't good either so I just bought another leisure battery .Not sure if you have a different issue
-
It seems you have a split relay but if you have not bench charged it as well, you have probably run down the battery and knackered it.
-
dd..I was of the understanding that as it’s a split relay the van battery keeps the leisure battery charged? What am I missing

What leisure battery did you buy? Sounds like there’s are rubbish

Depends how many miles you do. Even if do do a high mileage it is still best to bench charge with a good quality smart charger occasionally.

A pump will run at just over 11V if you use cold water and continue to for ages if the split charger put a little amount back in the battery from driving, sounds like a bad battery you are only running a 12v pump they draw as much as a bloke with no arms.

Two pumps and two electric reels

bought a system of them a few years ago
never again...

Your leisure battery requires a top up - unless your driving a good few miles a day it will deplete over several days to the point it can't run the equipment - as it runs when the van is running means the system itself is good
with all that electrically operated stuff you may need a second battery wired in - what size battery are you currently using

Go on...reveal all..

Battery has had it , if you haven’t benched it in 12 months and are running all that then you have done very well indeed.
I would suggest a Numax 31 MF and a CTEK MXS 5.0 charger to go with it , bench it every night regardless and you won’t go wrong

Two pumps and two electric reels
As P&F says, you need a combo battery - a leisure battery class 2 that also has a CCA rating.
If you are winding in 2 electric hose reels at the same time a standard leisure battery isn't designed to pump out 40 to 50 amps, even if it is for a short duration. You will 'kill' it.
I have a diesel heater running along with 2 pumps. After a hard day and the run home I have a deficit of 13 to 15% of my 105 amp battery capacity. I have to put the charger on every night to fully recharge my battery for the next day.
Running 2 electric hose reels I might even be tempted to look at a 100amp plus starter battery.

I had one a few years back,I didn't have a leasure battery,he wired it up so it ran off the van battery.
