Does anyone have business breakdown cover and can recommend where to get the cheapest policy? It needs to be a fully comprehensive policy.
My old van broke down this afternoon...now i thought i was covered, i pay about £15 per month to RAC on a personal driver policy where im covered in any vehicle...
Turns out because its a business vehicle i wasnt covered and so had to pay £140 for a tow home. >:(
Something that had never crossed my mind before, just assumed i was covered in any vehicle, pretty much a waste of my money having that policy as it was totally useless when i needed it :D

I got caught out the same way you did with RAC last year, so I joined AA business think it’s about £90 a year

cheers will ring RAC tomorrow then have a look about.
Its only when you read the small print that you see it doesnt cover a business vehicle, they sell the policy on "you are covered in any vehicle" robbing gets.

AA Business breakdown. Look into fleet aswell as you got 2 vans mate
-
I had the same problem with the RAC. Just join the AA as they don’t have a problem with it being a business/commercial vehicle. Just make sure you haggle with them every renewal though as they’re crafty buggers.

I just add breakdown cover to my commercial van insurance every year.it usually costs an extra £40-£60 per year.
I've also got AA breakdown on my car but they WILL NOT cover a commercial vehicle....
-
basic aa cover is for vans as well they do it on vehicle not person, unless it has changed
-
The aa do both because i have both. One for me & my family & one on my employee’s vehicle. Phone them & speak to them.

I've always been with green flag, only pay about £40,it's not national cover but all my works within a 3 to 4 mile radius. Called them out a couple of times and had no problem.

You can do a comparison on a site like comparethemarket and it will specify if it covers business.

Will cancel RAC and go with AA because im upset with RAC now ;D

Well ive rang the AA and can confirm that they will cover a signwritten vehicle on a personal policy.
So ive switched. Its £2 a month dearer though :'(
Chap said its a common complaint with RAC
